I agree with most of your points, but not this one.

for every minority we win over we lose ten to the Democrats because of the expressions of bigotry that we allow in our midst.

If this were the case most minorities would simply be independent, since there is easily as much or more bigotry in the Hypocratic Party. Of course I'm generalizing here, but the minority blocs (Cubans excepted) tend to default to the Dems, and the GOP must try to pry them from their cold, dead hands. :-) Any unchecked expressions of bigotry only make that job more difficult.

Not to belabor the point, but regarding

If this were the case most minorities would simply be independent, since there is easily as much or more bigotry in the Hypocratic Party. I am a Jew, and in this context may serve as guinni pig: you do not here this from Dems. I am upset that I have to give them credit for that, but this is true.

And how can you argue that point: if anything, the Dems are on the forefront of multi-culturalism, telling us that everyone is equal.

Secondly, regarding "most minorities would simply be independent." You ignore one of the most basic needs (of the five identified by psychologists, going back to Maslow): the need to belong. We all are social creatures --- why would you expect a Jew, Hispanic, or Black to be different? Furthermore, we all care about our country and would like to serve it the best we can. For this reason, we join parties and movements. Again, why would you expect minorities to be inert istead -- they too care about the country?

People who care join the movement that fits them most althought never completely. For the minorities, it is the Dems, unfortunately, When we expell the bigots, you will see the balance shift significantly.

P.S. If you need a futher illustration of what I said, follow the Le Pen threads. Observe how many here on this forum celebrate Le Pen. Ah, they say, "I like his immigration policies," but they do not care that he is openly anti-Semitic. Well, the Germans elected Hitler for the same reasons: his policies were initially good for Germany.

That is your crowd that stand around and disregards a bigot. "Vive Le Pen" --- that is what you see on the threads.

Listen carefully --- you may hear the door shut my a Hispanic, Jew or Black on his way out. And that is a shame.
