I was so surprised to read this. To find it on the source link I give for the NYT, scroll down, and you will see what I've posted, above, appear in a box on the right side of the page, as part of another article.
I have also included Le Pen's web site for those who read French.
BTW, I do not support this guy, but I honestly think this election may be even more interesting that the media has led us to believe thus far.

Oh, this is VERY interesting, no question about it. And the lefties all over Europe and the States alike are having the same reaction. The two words that best allude to their state are "panties" and "bunch."

Dang, a lot of that sounds great.
This is about to get very interesting.

I agree with everything in that platform except banning yarmulkes.
Does that make me an evil fascist bigot?

I like everything except expanding police powers.

I think he should also force all French people to have a nice attitude. Nope, never happen. Ribbitt!

Looks like the French have some redeeming personalities after all. :)

- Outlaw the wearing of yarmulkes and Muslim headscarves in schools. - End legal immigration.
I agree with everything listed except for the outlawing of yarmulkes and Muslim headscarves, and I support a 5-year moritorium on legal immigration. Everything else proposed by the French "fascist" seems rather obvious and logical to me. I guess it's just outdated nowadays to be a patriot in your own nation, and FAVOR your fellow citizens over illegal leeches.

From now on the French will surrender by e-mail.

There is no way French voters could want to "deport illegal immigrants and eliminate dual nationality". His strong showing was just a "protest vote". /sarcasm

Vive Le Pen!

Maybe he is a fascist, but I have a hard time singling him out from all the other fascists in politics.
Given that the leftists say Stalin is ok, even though he killed millions of people; Hitler is bad, because he killed millions of people; and John Ashcroft and Pat Buchanan are bad, even if they have never killed anyone; very little the leftists say means anything to me anymore.
If an English major wants to clean up that sentence, please do.
Finding a culture distasteful is not racism, or even necessarily bad. Some cultures are bad. But hey, these are the same people that approve of the bloody Palestinians.

A lot of people are missing an important point here.
Le Pen is not anything similar to an American conservative. He's nothing like Ronald Reagan, Bill Buckley, Rush Limbaugh, the GOP leadership, or even Alan Keyes. He's not even Buchanan. He's closer to David Duke than anything else.
In other words, he's precisely what the liberal media would like to portray "conservatives" as being. And what a shock, they are hyping him as one.
Personally, I hope Chirac squashes him like the bug that he is.

The "President" of France can not do any of these things without a willing Parliament. Where's he going to get one of those?

SOUNDS GREAT FOR FRANCE to many leftist pigs here in the U.S. for any of that to work here

The only thing I am seeing missing in this outstanding political platform, is the adoption of a 'bulletproof' Second Amendment in the French Constitution.

Now I understand why the worldwide, leftist media including our own were quick to demonize this guy. Most of his ideas could pass the smell test in this country.
