How about the 5 billion ways (dollars) that I and the rest of the American taxpayers have already been forced to help Israel?

I would argue that our foreing aid doesn't help Israel because then to avoid looking like we favor Israel after giving them the money we have to ask them to show "restraint" to appease the Arab oil states. If Israel didn't get that aid they would have solved the Pali problem long ago.

Do you only have a problem with the money we send Israel? How about the money we send the Palestinian Authority that ends up in a Swiss bank for Arafat and what is laughingly refered to as his wife? Or how about the money we send Egypt that has been used to build a military instead of schools and hospitals?

Did the US aid to Israel climb to 5 billion while I wasn't looking? We're giving MORE? Well all right!!! :)

5 Billion dollars? Every time I hear an opponent of this aid speak, the number becomes bigger. It is $3 billion. And the Egyptians get $2 billion, plus the billion we give other Arab states means that it is equally divided.

Plus, you have to realize that 2/3 of this is spent right here in the US and provides Americans with jobs and is ploughed right back into the US economy. It is not like we just send any of these recipient countries a cheque.

BTW, where do you get these figures. The congressional budget says 3 billion, not 5. And, as you know, it is in America's interest that we provide Israel with this aid since the overwhelming majority of it is spent in the US providing jobs for our citizens. Plus, it gives us a stick with which to beat up on the Jews whenever they decide that they should defend themselves.
