On Friday, January 26, 2001, the Ohio Valley Committee on US-Arab Relations will sponsor a panel discussion of the current violence in Palestine, titled Peace in Palestine. The program will start at 7:00pm at the Miami Valley Unitarian Fellowship located at 2001 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton, OH 45419. Panelists include Dr. Judith Martin from the University of Dayton, Dr. Tuhfeh Habash from Wilberforce University, Dr. Ribhi Daoud from Sinclair Community College, Mr. Rob Renfro, Executive Director, Ohio Valley Committee on US-Arab Relations, and others.
The panelists will address fundamental questions about the current situation in Palestine identifying root causes of the conflict, necessary preconditions for peace, and the likely outcome of the current violence. The program will begin with a brief history of the conflict and will conclude with panelists responding to questions from the audience. The program also includes a showing of the video The New Uprising, produced by the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee. The Ohio Valley Committee on US-Arab Relations is a regional affiliate of the National Council on US-Arab Relations headquartered in Washington, DC.
