And your point is?

Sucks to be in a war that you start and cannot win. Good reason to not wage war on your neighbors...

If 1000 meters is 2/3 of a mile how large is the 100 meter X 100 meter area shown?

It is 10 yards on a side more than a football field goal line to goal line

Is your point

My point, as you know, is that Jordan is "Palestine"

no reason why the Palestinians should not have a seperate state if they want one

Is there any reason why Rastaferians should not have their own State? What about Trekies? Or "long suffering" constantly "humiliated" Chicago Cubs fans. Not to mention Kurds, Druze, Basques, many many others. All somewhat more distinguishable from their greater society then "Palestinians".

Actually, none of those analogies cut either, because we want Cubs fans to remain Americans, and Turkey wants Kurds to remain Turks, etc. But no one wants the Palestinians. What you have here is Israel (or some of its supporters (I think Isreal realizes this argument has no clothes and has moved on)) daydreaming that if only Jordan would want to want to have them. You haven't addressed my point about what if the PA runs a Jordan/West Bank state. Or is this all about expelling Palestinians from the West Bank? If so, just say so. I can't blame you too much for wishful thinking.

Sorry to be so argumentative today.

From a purely political point of view I would think Israel would favor a Palestinian state. The Europeans will be left with nothing to complain about. Palestine will become responsible for the "welfare" of Palestinians and Israel washes their hands of the the responsibility for the refugees once and for all. Goods and services become the resonsibility of the state of Palestine and the Jew hating European clache has nowhere to go.

"instigated the fight"

Not only that, but the fact they wired the houses together KNOWING it would take the whole area down; and then they had the gall to make THEIR OWN PEOPLE (women and children) stay within the buildings, just so they could claim it was the Jews who did it. Amazing! There is no greater cowardice than this!

No, what happened in Dresden was an air attack during war.

Folks never seem to make it around to the official City of Dresden website.

Last time I checked it, it clearly stated that most of the city's industry was dedicated
to the war effort (run by the Nazis!) and was broken by the bombing raid.

It also seems that the Dresdeners have a talent for p-ssing-off people.
The website included a historical picture of the bombed out city center from another
military dalliance a few hundred years ago.

I admit that there the term "overkill" might be arguably applied to the raid,
but the Dredeners seem to understand that what happened was not a shocking outcome
given the Brits/Allies might have wanted to "send a message" that this
was the end of the second World War in less than 40 years.

And the website revealed that the Dresdeners have a talent for ticking people off.
It included a historical picture showing how the city center had been bombed out
by artillery...a couple of hundred years ago.

we want Cubs fans to remain Americans,

Speak for yourself. Have you seen some of those people? And what about Trekies?

Actually, "Palestinians" and all other do Arabs consider themselves part of one greater Arab Nation.

Would I like to wave a magic wand and they would all be gone from the territories? Sure. But, you should know by now that I am practical.

I have no choice but not to care if they get some entity in the territory that can't threaten Israel nor includes Judaism's holiest sites.

When that happens I also want Israel to wash its hand of them. Lets see then create a viable economy on their own.

In any event, you will see that if this happens it will not bring peace. You will also see that they will soon undermine Jordan and sooner or later Jordan will be "Palestine".

I didn't see yours yet when I wrote #96.

As you see I agree with you in part. However, I don't believe it will bring any kind of permanent peace nor will Israel not be blamed for the resulting pit of this "entity".

It's a b$tch being the loser, especially when you instigated the fight

Seems like the Arabs can't remember history and are doomed to repeat it; the Six Day war in 67, the Yom Kippur war in 73, and now Jenin! Each time the Arabs attack, with their armies or their homicide bombers, they lose land to the Israelies, then bitch and moan when 'those dirty Jews' don't want to give it back!

There was very fierce fighting in Jenin because a lot of Hamas members were holed up there. There were VERY FEW civilians killed and even they had been given ample warning to leave. Most of the bodies found were terrorists who had been shooting at the Israelis. By the way, weren't the poor Palestinians only supposed to have rocks and bottles? That's what we've been told all this time! Anyway, Hamas had booby trapped a lot of those buildings, and after the 13 Israeli's were killed by one of those booby traps the other day, the IDF, I'm sure, did not want to take any more chances. They probably just levelled the buildings to save more lives.
