Don't forget just 5 days ago - there were over 100,000 marchers in DC to show support for Israel.

VietVet said:Come on, guys, even with the Vietnam War winding down in 1970, at its most unpopular point, patriotic rallys on the Mall in DC were able to attact from 7500 to 30,000 people. I know; I was there. Why can't we do the same?

And your reply was:Don't forget just 5 days ago - there were over 100,000 marchers in DC to show support for Israel.

And all I can say is this: Five days ago 100,000 people showed up to support Israel. Where were the people yesterday to show support for America??

To all those who were within a day driving distance, I have to ask the question that MrConfettiMan asked so long ago about another outrage in the US, we were there - where were you?

I know many folks had good reasons that kept them away, but what about the others?

I am so happy to have seen so many good folks who did give up their day off (some their whole weekend - and some drove great distances, too) to come to the rally and stand as a counterpoint to the racist, bigoted, vicious mobs of hate-filled excuses for human beings. The folks on our side showed great restraint when small cells of inciters broke through our lines and tried to start brawls with their signs and foul mouths. For the number of folks we had there, we did a damn fine job - and every one of the folks who stood their ground at the Rally for America deserves huge thanks from the rest of us.
