Patriots Rally For America - Live Report
Dave Dilegge - Live From DC | 20 April 2002 | Mustang

Posted on 04/20/2002 7:56:53 AM PDT by Mustang

Received two cell calls from Dave. The stage is set. The flags are waving. The weather is great. They're ready to Roll! Around 0945 the crowd was 50+ including Kristinn, sauropod, Leadpenny, Angelwood, Exit 148, GoreWarVet, Dutchy, Congressman Billy Bob, Black Agnes, TaxMan, TGSL DeComa, WhoKnowsWhatEvil, FireBrand, Country Dummy, Stan Waite, Pro2aMom, 0351Dog. (please pardon any mispelled "names" or omissions. The cell connections were poor).

Around 1015 the crowd was continuing to grow, with some spill over from the Peacenik/anarchist nitwits. Dave reports that it was the port-o-potties that attracted them. But our fearless Freepers labelled the doors "Patriots" and Patriot Women". It seems to be turning them away.

More to follow. Mustang sends from Florida.

We need to remember next time to get a shot of their area, after they leave and they've left their debris everywhere. We could even send it out to the press and post it on websites to further discredit them.

And as to your comment to someone about his daughter and her associates being your sworn enemy.... I'd be honored to stand with you if and when the time comes, and I'm certain I'm not alone.

Right! I once got the full tv coverage for an event to support the lying sack of crap who occupies one of the Senate seats for my state.

I was the lone protester on a cold night and the reporters covering the event were po'd about no access to the candidate....

My Scrape the Bottom Vote for Rodham sign and I got the only coverage on the evening news. Got many kudos from my boss and many lefty co-workers the next day for my excellent interviewing skills!

God Bless the many Patriots who represented us all yesterday!

And here I thought it's only rag-heads overseas that burn the colors. To anyone that is unclear on the idea, this shows they (white un-American youth lib-weenies) really ARE the enemy.

I don't think there's any doubt how I feel about the WTO, federal reserve banks, IMF, and corporations.

I'm glad there were people there speaking for American's.

We have about as much control over our countries foreign policy as the Iraqi's have over saddam.

But I'm confident that will change........

Peace

What apologies? I enjoyed our chat, Devil Dog. I just sat back and waited, knowing you'd eventually have to take a smoke break. :-)

Many thanks for the warm reception the Patrick Henry Chapter from Cleveland received. We could tell that many, many hours of work went into the rally. It is greatly appreciated. We had a great time, and a very uneventful ride back to the Cleveland area.

I'm not sure of the next time we will be down, but keep us posted, and we will see if we can get more mid-westerners to join the party.

The one thing I want to make a point of were our speakers. ALL were effective speakers. They all made sense.

Well, as much as I enjoyed B-1 Bob, he stretches the last of your comments to the limit. :-) I haven't seen anyone yet mention it, but the crowd turned ugly during his very passionate speech (which I liked!), where he continuously bellowed that the America haters were parasites. It was no coincidence that many of the freaks were drawn to us by that. Soon after Race was running around telling the women to scoot, but fortunately no physical confrontations broke out. The police did a magnificent job, and I personally thanked one officer for being out there.

Come on, guys, even with the Vietnam War winding down in 1970, at its most unpopular point, patriotic rallys on the Mall in DC were able to attact from 7500 to 30,000 people. I know; I was there. Why can't we do the same?

It's really sad, isn't it? Just proves that lots of folks are "outraged" behind the keyboard or next to the water cooler, but when it comes to actually putting forth some effort...

There is a core group of very inspiring folks here at FR that talk the talk and walk the walk. For them I am eternally grateful.

Exit 148, yeah, my signs usually have stupid slogans and such. I use it as a way of mocking the people who we are protesting. My Freeper name, Your Ad Here, comes from the first sign I ever used at a Freeper rally, back on September 29th. I made it myself on the spot, when I found an ANSWER poster in the garbage. So I made my sign on the back of theirs!

My other sign on Saturday was an ad for Icehouse beer (We'll make the beer, you make the commercial). We're gonna send Icehouse the footage we shot, and hopefully they'll put us on tv. During the war over the portapotties, one of the leftists was trying to get in, and me and my buddies told her no, and then went into a rant about how she should go cool off with an Icehouse. Every time she asked us a question about why she couldn't use the bathroom, we just told her about what a great beer Icehouse is. It was too funny!

Geez, me too. I wonder who else in attendance was driven to hot showers afterwards? Not the America haters, I'm sure.

I was mulling over the possibility of bringing a basket of those 'shampoo and deodorant' samplers you see at CVS to hand out to the lefties at the next gathering. Cost effective, too...we could just gather them up off the ground to use at any subsequent rallies.

Over the course of the day; I am personally aware of several officers that asked for "Patriot's Rally for America" buttons. We saw to it that they got them. G-d Bless the police!

"just an abservation from the coverage i saw on foxnews. th said that the freeper rally was very much in favor of the world bank and imf policies. not the best message to get out inmho. sorry if the point was already raised."

When I finally made it over to the Patriot's Rally around 12 noon, I reported to kristinn that WTOP News Radio 1500, the only 24 hour all news radio station in the metro DC area, kept broadcasting the story over and over again that "our side" was holding a "PRO World Bank/IMF counter protest" to the anti-globalization, anti-NWO protests. This probably incited some of the anarchists to pay a disruptive visit to the Patriot's Rally.

I personally hate it when the multinational global capitalist crowd benefits from our patriots being falsely painted as supporters of the New World Order. Several of my colleagues and I were there to show our support for our troops, the U.S. Constitution and Freedom. We were NOT there to support the special interest groups that are now running hog wild through Congress with, unfortunately, help from certain members of the Bush administration who shall remained unamed for now (at least not by me). ;-)

FYI, this "useful idiot" ended up in the DC jail, for A&B on a peace officer, later in the day. he was a REAL turkey, whom we had to put up with for >4 hours.
