LOL - I will be singing that all night now - it is stuck in my brain housing group. Thanks so much to you and the rest of the Tri-Staters for coming all that way. Didn't I tell you weeks ago that even though this was a rally we would still be "up close" and personal with the unwashed;-)

Can someone ask Mr. Becker where I should send my expenses then? And where the DC Chapter should send their expenses for reimbursement?????

LOL! I could KICK myself for driving all the way up from Tennessee when I could have cruised in comfort on a cushy, Republican-sponsored bus! D-OH! (I guess I could e-mail him with those questions, but I really don't want to get spammed with a bunch of left-wing drivel.)

Awesome rally, Dave. Thank you so much for your efforts. I don't care whether there are a thousand lost souls or a million if we have the sanity, cleanliness and honesty of the Freeper side to offset the bad guys and educate the unsure. Mustang, great reporting. Next time...only one request....more, please!

Whose idea was it to put the port-o-potties on your side? LOL!

I didn't know that the members of PAW were so dirty and disrespectful of the environment and their fellow man.

Bless you for being there. They lost....there was no major news story, no "millions" of discontented, no police brutality, no Freeper hurt. Another positive, Daschle and Gephardt chose yesterday evening to complain about media bias and criticize the Bush administration so we had juxtaposed for the day's top 6 o'clock news stories a whining Gephardt and whining, ugly anti-American protestors.

Thanks for the steak exchange and some real good politick talk. When you reach my advanced age shoe leather leads to dental bills.

"These "protestors" are nothing more that terrorist vermin."

I was thinking that myself. I hope the FBI got plenty of photos of the crowd of pro-Palestinians, of the people carrying Hamas and Hezbollah flags, etc. These are NOT our friends.

Dave,

Thanks so much for all your hard work. I wish it had worked out for me to be there. Looks like you all had your hands full but that you truly were patriots. Thanks to you all.

Whose idea was it to put the port-o-potties on your side? LOL!

The D.C. Chapter rented them for our use. The city did not provide them. The unwashed had at least triple the number on their side of Constitution Ave. The problems began well before the start of the rally. For goodness sake, the porta pottie guy had just unloaded the first two (with the rest still on the truck) and all these busses pulled up and unloaded the unwashed. They made a bee-line for the johns. As we had paid for them, and they had their own we simply told them to walk another 100 yards across the street. The word got out over there and they must have decided that the johns were our "center of gravity" and attacked from all sides;-) There was no way we were going let them trash the porta potties we paid for and no way we were going to let our people stand in line behind the unwashed. Little did we know early in the morning that the johns would become a "frontline for freedom". Go figure...

I think that the volume of our sound system is what caused the near riot, as the America-haters could hear B-1 Bob speak the truth and they didn't like it.

Our excellent sound system was heard on the other side of the Washington Monument and we repeated were asked quite nicely to turn the volume down a little bit.

When B-1 Bob Dornan was speaking and the discourteous, disrespectful, America-hating and easily led opposition protesters lined the sidewalk to boo him, our sound technician, Sharon, turned the volume up extra high on the side speakers to blast them with B-1's speech and help drown them out. Kudos to Sharon!

BTW, the sound system was one of the best I've ever heard and easily drowned out the other rallies' sound. We couldn't hear a thing from the Elipse!

"------- is that a couple of hundred people had the nads to hold a counter protest in the jaw of the dragon."

Thinking of it that way, gives our rally even more power and meaning. Were we the 'David to their Goliath'?

They surely feared us enough to try and quiet us. I think, tho, that some of those misfits were just trying to give themselves some legitimacy into their own shallow, misdirected idealism.

As to the actual Elipse rally---who actually were/was the sponsors/sponsor.

You mention that one only learns from experience doing these things etc. My thought re this rally was that we had learned from the past and it was better and each one is better than the last. I think the turnout was a success -- Channel 9 local news gave almost equal time to the rally without mentioning any numbers. Although I realize it wasn't as much as one could hoped for, truly the media paid more attention to us than in the past (but not as much as they should have!). I was thinking just that. Then I read your post-it, and it occurs to me that we have "built" on past successes in an important way: the media at least now has to, however grudingly, cover us somewhat. I know, I know, it wasn't fair. But it was progress. Congratulations.

LOL! Port-o-potties....it's the perfect symbol! Judging by reports of their smelliness and general uncleanness....their PoPs were probably really rank. Did you tell the anti-American protestors that capitalist ingenuity and $$$ provided the potties and that it's all part of the evil American plan...to bring plumbing and cleanliness to the barbarians...(^:

Bears repeating! The sound *rocked*!

YourAdHere -- was that you with the Icehouse sign? That's so cool. Our signs were wittiest.

IAC, ANSWER, Trotskite splinter, as far as I have researched, SWP, Trotskite Main Group. The have been throwing their weight behind Faggots, Illeagles, and other marginals for years in the Northeast.

There is on piece of advice that I will give any FReeper, if you ae going to do a protest....DO IT. Don't count on anyone to show up, prepare your arguements, make up your signs and then DO IT.

If you have one person, thats good, if you have five, thats better, if you have a hundred, you rule, never ever underestimate the power of one man with a sign, Never be afraid, never hold back, the future belongs to the bold.

Yup, my sign was the Icehouse beer slogan. I thought my other one was even wittier - "This sign killed a tree." It got a lot of laughs. One of the leftists trying to barge in on the portapotties mistakenly thought I was on his side, and started treating me like a buddy. When he asked "where you from man," I replied "America."

Oh, you should have seen the look of stupidity on his face. It was priceless.

The Patriots Rally for America was truly a team effort. We all worked very hard and were determined to hold a rally in the midst of the Anti-American protesters.

I think the very fact that they tried so hard to distract and disrupt our rally showed how very in your face we were to them. We didn't allow them to run rampant through the streets of D.C. with no opposition.

Our numbers were small in comparison, but everyone who came had the courage and conviction to show up at the Patriots Rally to support America and our troops. Our sound system was LOUD and our MESSAGE was impossible to ignore.

Did you see these guys down there? Crazy.

With the Capitol in the background, paraplegics from the Lives in the Balance group "hang" around Thursday, April 18, 2002 during a demonstration to urge the Senate not to ban therapeutic cloning for stem cell research. The group believes that while Congress debates the issue, their lives and the lives of millions of Americans are "hanging in the balance." (AP Photo/Rick Bowmer)
