A school district in California is facing a federal lawsuit after representatives from Planned Parenthood were brought in to address a health class without parental notice.
School administrators at Arcata High School invited guest speakers from Planned Parenthood to address the freshman class. The topic to be covered was sexual education -- but more specifically, "homophobia" and homosexuality.
Brad Dacus of the Pacific Justice Institute says what took place during the class amounted to religious-based harassment.
"Planned Parenthood put all the kids in a circle and then they would ask them questions. If they answered the questions correctly, the children got to leave the circle and watch and look and stare at the quote-unquote intolerant kids inside the circle," Dacus says.
"Inside the circle, the final question asked of the children was, Do you have religious beliefs that ... homosexuality is a sin and therefore wrong? There was [sic] three girls who were left in the middle of the circle feeling very demeaned, very put down."
Dacus says such exercises are all too common in California schools. "These kinds of programs are becoming the norm, not the exception," he says. "Theyre becoming much more the rule, and that is why its so important to protect our children from this kind of stigmatizing trauma thats taking place against Christian kids with Christian family backgrounds."
Dacus says the exercise violated both state and federal law when it was performed without prior written parental consent. The parents of at least one Christian student are considering legal action against the school district.
Very well said.
What really burns me is that you don't neccessarily have to be of "religious belief", to know that homosexuality is not natural, is perverted, ect....( fill in the blank).
These homo-nazis are trying to manipulate and intimidate these kids into believing it's "because of your religion you think this way, so therefore you must be intolerant". Making them sit in a circle to be ridiculed is not only cruel, but beyond an abomination. It doesn't have to take a fundemental belief in God to know or realize that it is sick and perverted behaviour. God reinforces that belief.
These people should be took out back and "dealt" with. But first, sue the hell out of them.
Your observation about it not just being a Christian thing is a good one, too.
It's funny. When I was in school (before college) it was a nonissue. There was a rumor (which later proved to be fact) that one young man was homosexual. It was certainly an oddity, something undesirable, but no way did I feel an eruption of feelings of violence toward the person. I do think some elements of the religious right have stirred the passions of certain individuals, not outright inciting violence, but providing a climate for it to manifest itself.
What does PP have to do with homosexuality anyway since it doesn't involve reproduction except by recruiting.

GOOD GRIEF! SUE these people. Take away their voice through BANRUPTING THEM.
Yes, we are working towards a one world government. What stands in the way of the U.S. is our Constitution. That too is being eroded away through redefining it as an "evolving document" or a "living breathing document". So little by little that is becoming less of a barrier.
More importantly, the Bible predicts this - one world government. It also fortells that we will be like the times of Noah. It was violent and unnatrual behaviour ruled supreme. The paradox is this for Christians, as the "world" becomes a more deadly place to live, spiritually and otherwise the closer is His second coming.
This group is out of control.
They should change the name. Planned Non-Parenthood? Uh no, uh, Planned Parents of Hoods? Uh no, um, Hoods Planning Partents? Nope. Planned Parent Hoodwinking? That's pretty good. Planned A-Parent Hoods? Heheheh. Planning Parent-Hoods; now that's irony. Maybe somebody can help me...
A trip to the principal's office, requireing a call to the aprents, opens the door to any action you want to take.
Good advice. These "agenda" type programs are imposed in secret without advance notice to prevent parents from stopping them. A child, well trained by parents, can force school authorities to contact said parents and save at least that child if not the class from indoctrination trauma.
That's ok, as long as you don't abandon the public schools. (I'm not accusing you OK!,) Too many Christians are thrilled to ignore the problems/needs of others. They won't tolerate this activist child abuse with their kids, but won't lift a finger to help protect their neighbor's kid. There is no excuse for that activity. It can be stopped if Christians love their neighbors enough to vote and run in school board elections, and give money to support lawsuits to protect their own childrens rights.
I think that I'll put my money where my mouth is, and send a check to a legal rights group today.
Or even, if I was in a bad mood, ask the instructor to "Bend over the table - let me see how it feels before I make a judgement."
They seem to be a very arrogant bunch (Planned Parenthood) hell-bent on undermining what is left of the family in this country.
Bingo. And I don't think you have to be religious to know that there is eviiiil out there either :-) (but it sure helps to have God on your side, LOL!)

Same here, HS class of '81. Amazing how perspectives change in 20+ years.

Absolutely nothing. But what you noted above is right on the mark. They are a bunch of commando, well financed powerful women who push their self-centered agenda on the mainstream. They continue to tell the same story over and over again, hoping that if they tell it enough, it will become believable, and those who think homosexuality is wrong will doubt themselves.
They will continue to bang their drum until they run out of money, and sadly, I don't see that happening.
