Men Sought In Videotaped Animal Attack

SACRAMENTO, Calif -- Two men are being sought for allegedly pulling off to the side of a dead end road and unleashing a vicious pit bull on an unsuspecting cat. And the entire assault was caught on videotape.

Security video captured the attack last January at an industrial area in north Sacramento off Striker and Truxel roads.

The videotape shows the men stopping their car and popping the trunk open. That's when a cat jumps out. The dog takes off in hot pursuit. The cat is eventually cornered.

"What they're doing here is dragging out the cat. They have something around its neck," SPCA officer Katy Peralta said.

And after the cat is horribly mauled by the pit bull. One man dumps it in the street in front of the car's left front tire. The other man rolls the car over the animal, first forward and then backward.

"The guy standing in front of the car will lift the cat up and toss it into the field. That's what he just did. And the guy in the checkered sweatshirt just let the dog go to continue mauling the cat," Peralta said.

The cat was found in that field by investigators the next day.

"There could be one of two things they're doing here. They could want to intentionally hurt some one close to them by taking someone's cat, or they training that animal to be a fighter," Peralta said.

In this case, a bigger concern for the SPCA is when a dog is trained to chase anything that runs away, its next victim may be a child. The SPCA is now asking the public to help find these two men. They are driving a 1990s model Toyota Celica with a license plate in the front passenger window. The dog is a brown or tan pit bull. And investigators believe the cat, with some unique markings, may have been some one's pet.

"It is a black and brown tabby cat with four white paws, very distinctive. It's a neutered male, and it's very young," Peralta said.

The SPCA is now offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the two men.

When caught, the men will face animal cruelty charges. Charges that could put them behind bars for up to five years with a $20,000 fine.

If you have any information on the case, you are asked to call the SPCA at (916) 383-7387, extension 9127

I have no problem with hunters, however I do have a problem with sickos that torture animals for fun. If you look back, most serial killers started out by getting their kicks by torturing animals.

Oh Bull...I started out with that attitude right up from with my example of George W. Bush and his duck hunting.....don't try to pretend like I've changed any for your satisfaction. Unfortunatly, we've seen just here in FR....that most hunters aren't like George now are they? In fact....most of you hunters in here have admitted to what I have stated all along.....to what I believed in all along and what I will continue to believe in.

I didn't think there was a change. In fact, what I said in post 50 still appears to be your attitude.

In fact....most of you hunters in here have admitted to what I have stated all along.....to what I believed in all along and what I will continue to believe in.

For the record, why don't you go ahead and restate it here, ok? What exactly have the hunters admitted to? And what is it that you have believed and will continue to believe? Just put it out in non-rambling black and white here on this thread.

Lived in Stockton, S. of Sacto. for a bit. Lived next to the most low life of redneckers. They bred pits and fighting cocks. Their dogs almost ripped my pet dog to death. Hope they catch and incarcerate these sadists.

I can't even begin to respond...

Our cat - a stray kitten that showed up on 9/12 and killed our other kitten - actually walks the dogs with us...we travel about 8 - 10 blocks and the darn cat stays within 15 feet or so. Every once in a while during the walk he will make a strafing run at each of the dogs, knowing they are on leads...pretty comical.

Two charged with using pit bull as a weapon

Two men have been charged with aggravated robbery and are accused of using a dog as a deadly weapon.

Police said Trinidad Jaimes and Michael Thompson, both 19, used a pit bull terrier in an attack on Christopher Hernandez to steal $20.

The three men were arguing over the money when Thompson told Jaimes to "get the dog," police said.

While Thompson and Jaimes beat and choked Hernandez, police said, the dog lunged at Hernandez's neck and thighs. As Hernandez crawled toward two police officers who had arrived, the dog charged again and clamped his jaws around Hernandez's leg.

Jaimes and Thompson were charged with aggravated robbery and were being held in the Travis County Jail with bail set at $28,000.

My advise is "stay away from police dogs".

It says in the story that when caught, the men would face animal cruelty charges. Well, in my story, when the men were caught they would face death. That's what they deserve. The world would be a better place without them. They are useless, worthless scum.

I am not against hunting. I am, however, in favor of maiming these two particular people.

I don't know nothin' about eatin' kitty, but when I was in Korea last year, I went lookin' for a Pekingnese sandwich. Couldn't find one, though. Anyone finds a place that serves it, let me know.

Meaning what, you're not going to post anymore? You're refusing to clarify your position, then? That's fine. As far as going back and reading the other threads - why bother? Your statements are so disjointed and rambling that it's impossible to tell where you stand - other than the fact that you support those groups that support animal rights through domestic terrorism.
