That's interesting, I didn't know that. So when faced with a steel reinforced bldg, ammonium nitrate would not be the explosive of choice.

Even dynamite, laid on top of a concrete loading dock, would do little damage --- unless "tamped" with sand on top of the dynamite (according to my father who was working on demolition of the docks at an Air Force base in Georgia when I was in high school).
