Georgia Representative Cynthia McKinney recently implied, with all the subtlety of Ted Kennedy belly flopping into a kiddie pool, that President Bush and friends knew in advance of the terrorist plans to hijack airplanes and kill Americans. If McKinney knows all this so soon after that tragic day and with no investigation whatsoever, it begs the questions of what did Cynthia McKinney know, when did she know it, and why the hell didn't she tell us all this on September 10th?
In a radio interview, McKinney, whose wearing a collar in the picture on her website that makes her look as if she's sticking her head out the butt of an albino cheetah, claimed that Bush and his friends in the business world have much to gain from this war on terror. The interview was conducted in a town known for its unbiased political thought patterns, the city that churns out goofy people who have given us more snickers than Forrest Mars- Berkeley, California.
If McKinney knew that Bush knew that attacks were imminent, she's just fingered herself as an accomplice. Not too bright, but then again we're talking about a member of congress here. I think there should first be an investigation into how we can go about trying to keep complete morons out of the House and Senate. Think about it. Everything else involving this country's security you have to qualify for in some way. To get into the military you need to pass a mental and physical exam, for the F.B.I. and C.I.A. an extensive background check along with all the exams, etc. But there's absolutely no qualification whatsoever, other than age and where you were born, for becoming a congressperson. And they're the ones with the power to order around all the others! We're letting the shut-ins at Bellevue dispense their own meds.
We can't even count on a more educated citizenry to help get rid of them, because they'll just redraw their district to continually include all those whose vote can be bought with a pleasant smile and a pint of Yukon Jack. The powerful in congress can gerrymander their voting area to the point that now most district lines look like something that Ray Charles drew on an Etch-A-Sketch. The Founders had one fatal flaw in their plan. They created this magnificent vehicle for freedom, but made it way too easy for nearsighted drunks with an inner ear imbalance to get behind the wheel. They designed a beautiful, shiny Rolls Royce only to let Jan Michael Vincent drive.
What would have been Bush's motivation for allowing the terrorist attacks to go forth, higher approval ratings? Oil money? Was he trying to get rid of Cheney for some reason so he could keep all the oil money for himself? Vice President Cheney was working in his White House office at the time of the attacks and was rushed to a secure basement location because an attack on the White House was feared. But why organize something so elaborate to do something that could have been taken care of with a couple of sticks of fried cheese? No, there's got to be more to it. It's funny to me how the likes of McKinney and others on the far left can make cracks about Bush being intellectually inferior, and then accuse him of something so cunningly planned.
McKinney has recently backed off her allegations a little bit, partly because of something that never fails to frustrate, but never stops, the blindly partisan- an annoying lack of any evidence whatsoever. To McKinney, just as was the case when that bloated gavel pounding pinhead and now oversized Kingsford briquette on the burning flames of hellfire Tip O'Neil was going after Reagan, the clear lack of any evidence presents the greatest case for further investigation. Huh? That's sounds like the kind of lame excuse an exterminator would use after you caught him going through your underwear drawer.
People who are constantly trying to point out, without any evidence, the wrongdoings of others are usually up to something themselves. It's a political sleight of hand trick that many of the best congressional magicians perform flawlessly. Keep their eyes on this hand, and they won't see what that other hand is doing. But you have to make sure that the crime you're accusing somebody else of is more severe than the crime you're trying to cover, or it won't work. It's common sense really. If you're going to accuse somebody else of being overweight, first make darn sure you're not the fattest person in the room.
I haven't figured out what trick McKinney's trying to pull off, but the clear lack of evidence of anything only strengthens my resolve to investigate further. So far her theories contain more vacuous holes than Barbara Boxer´s cat scan, but we´ll have to keep an eye on her.
