What exploitation? I said there were protests in Bahrain and "they" wanted the 5th Fleet out. I suspect the 5th Fleet is well aware of that fact.

That you misread what I said and thought I meant the government wanted us out is silly. If that were the case it would be front page news and it would have had multiple threads of its own.

The Bush administration assured the Arab world on Friday that it would keep working with Yasser Arafat on a pathway to peace.

But anti-American and anti-Israel sentiment was strong.

In Bahrain, more than 3,000 marched from a mosque in the capital Manama to the U.N. office chanting: "Death to the U.S. and Israel!" They burned an effigy of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and called on the government to close the U.S. Embassy and the U.S. base on the island. Bahrain hosts the headquarters of the U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet.

What is interesting now is not the letter at all. It is the fact that all the Israeli seminar posters are interest in is the truth of the email. One even suggested, gloatingly, that whoever wrote it is in big trouble.

Not the normal reactions of patriotic Americans. Some skepticism, yes, but not to the exclusion of all else. Not one of the seminar posters has even mentioned the implications of the facts we know are true: 50,000 protested the USA in Bahrain. Our Embassy was fire bombed. One person was killed. Hezbollah was involved.

More concerned about IDF assests and troops than US assets and troops?

Thanks. That AP article was news to me. I knew we used a pier there and our heavy transports go into Bahrain but didn't know our 5th fleet headquarters are there. Well, we do have the firepower handy to take care of any unrest, don't we?

I don't misread, LL. I read very clearly, and you very clearly implied that the Bahraini GOVERNMENT had asked the Fifth Fleet to leave. If you hadn't had to admit you lied, that would still be your CLEAR implication. And I certainly would have headed it straight to the Fifth for confirmation. You are more than a normal, run of the mill liar. YOU are a professional. And a very lousy one at that.
