Marine email: 5 of us held off crowd of 3,000 at US embassy in Bahrain.

Hello Everyone,

Just to let you know the Embassy in Bahrain was attacked yesterday at 4:00 p.m. The five Marine Security Guards and the two Regional Security Officers were the only ones protecting the Embassy. The Embassy was closed so luckily we only had to protect ourselves and the Embassy compound from destruction. The protest was a pro-Palestinian rally that started a few miles from the embassy and became fueled for violence as radical Muslim groups took charge and led the march on the embassy at 3:30 p.m.

The march was between 2600 and 3000 protestors, but we do not have an exact count because it just happened several hours ago. The protestors were throwing rocks, sticks and fire bombs at the embassy. Between 20 and 30 protestors climbed the wall and started setting the cars, trucks and embassy on fire. When the protestors climbed the walls, the 5 Marines were authorized to use necessary force.

We shot tear gas into the crowd of over 2600 people to try and turn them away from the compound and then continued destruction of our pov's and satellite communication equipment, which was outside the embassy but inside the compound wall. At 4:10 p.m. no firefighters had arrived, so three Marines had to leave the embassy under covering fire of the Marines with gas on the third floor to go to the back of the compound to put out the fires themselves.

We sustained minor injuries from the protestors attacking us with rocks and sticks as we chased them out of the compound and back over the walls using force, while the remaining Marine put out the fires to the best of his ability. After the fires were secured the Marines pulled back into the embassy and continued to force the protestors back onto the highway behind the embassy. The protests were mainly secured by 7:00 p.m. and the investigation was in full swing by this time as well. The Marines stayed at the embassy for security throughout the night and will continue to do so today.

The host government was embarassed that they could not control its own people and that their riot control police were no match for the number of protestors.

The King of Bahrain instructed the Ministry of Interior to fix the problem before dawn, so that minimal damage would be seen this morning. When the Marines were told at 6:00 a.m. this morning we could leave to go get some sleep, we drove past the outside of the embassy and were amazed. The grafitti had been painted over, the guard shacks that had been burned were replaced, the fire bomb burns on the wall had been painted over, the thousand's of rocks that had been thrown were swept away, and the barbed wire that surround the embassy the previous day was gone. Other than the total destruction of all government property inside the compound it looked to anyone passing by, that nothing had really happened.

The host government represenatives called the Ambassador last night and told him they would replace everything that was destroyed and that cost was not an issue. The Kingdom of Bahrain is so scared of pissing off the U.S. that it will do anything in its power to preserve its relationship with us even in the shadow of ignorance from it's own people. The entire fight was caught on video because we saw the Al Jazerra News choppers over our heads. The video may or may not be released because it will be handled the same way the Daniel Pearl murder was handled, since the government will try and pressure what is released and given the fact that the news agency that filmed the riot yesterday is the same one that had the Daniel Pearl murder on tape.

This is the story of what took place on April 5th 2002 in Manama, Bahrain at 3:30 p.m., regardless of what you see or hear. Before I leave and go treat my scrapes and cuts and then go to bed for about 12 hours, I would like to say that the two RSO's and five Marines kept the Embassy from burning to an embarassing pile of United States image, and successfully held off and injured any one that intended to come take our pride from us.

Did I mention the riot was at least 2600 people? Just wanted to make sure anyone out there who thought the Marines who guard the embassies were NOT bad ass boys with guns, does not have that in their heads anymore.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, I am off to bed because I am dead tired, but it was worth it because I had the time of my life yesterday, by far the most fun I have ever had. And one more thing, the American flag is still flying as high and bright as it was before the riot and the protestors' flags are lying on the ground covered in mud.

It would appear your personal credibility is fairly shaky here.

Speak for yourself.

You have been offered on several occassions to have the mail sent to you after you demanded that the headers be posted

Hmm? I think it was one occasion. You're obviously as inept with numbers as with everything else, mangy. Not that it touches on the current topic, of course :).

It is a fact that you do not wish to corroborate but are only interested

It is a fact that the authenticity of a piece of text floating around on the internet cannot be verified by looking at email headers. If you're too stupid to realize this, you probably should have joined some semi-criminal hacker group too unintelligent to think they were being noticed ;). The market for stupidity is breathtaking in those circles, I've heard.

We'll get to the bottom of this without fumbling around, you know :)).

from your post # 68:
"What I was interested in wasn't the names, but the path the mail has travelled, which is in the headers. That can say something about wether it is authentic, or something that some pimply kid has spammed the net with from his room."

from your post # 82:
"It is a fact that the authenticity of a piece of text floating around on the internet cannot be verified by looking at email headers."

You sure have me confused!

You sure have me confused!

At first Mr. Lied implied that this was something personal that he had received. It gradually became clear that this thing is widespread over the net, so that there is not, in all probability, one sender but rather lots of people sending this back and forth. So the headers are no longer of interest. As I said, other ways must then be used :).

You posted it as a valid email and implied it was indeed a *true* email then proceeded to post a link to your own propagandistic thread which blamed those darn Jooos for an attack by Jihadists on what you ALSO implied, were our troops stationed at an *air base* which is untrue, and at the 5TH Fleet, which is ALSO untrue. Now you admit that this *email* might well NOT be true, but it's *interesting reading?* What kind of a human are you? You have been caught and proven a liar over and over and over, but it makes good reading? To whom? Most people on this forum are interested in truths. And where it comes to our troops, this kind of exploitation for your own propagandistic agenda is not just disgusting, it is downright unpatriotic. All you seem to care about is your own attempts to blame literally everything on a Jew and you NEVER fail to make that point, even when it's pointless.

Beach-Babe, I wonder that you have gone ahead and posted what headers you have, but could not, for some reason, post the letter yourself, otherwise preferring Larry post it for what purpose, only the Lord knows. Perhaps you didn't realize for what purpose Larry would use it. However, if you did, then how much respect do YOU have for our Marines that you would allow such a blatant exploitation of their heroism to link to the efforts of mr. Lied to imply that Jews are bringing the wrath of the world down on American troops which we have already proven was a deliberate and purposeful, not to mention uninformed, LIE!?!
Your explanation about a dialup being the excuse for not posting it yourself is a tad nonunderstandable to me as I have had dialups which not only permitted much longer tomes, but many of the people here also use dialups and don't seem to have that problem.
The facts here are very simple. Larry used this *email* to promote an agenda which has become outstandingly obvious. It has no other purpose than to promote discord and suspicion of ANY Jew, whether they be CONSERVATIVE or *other*. The *other* we are doing our best to convert. By using this forum to discredit ALL of us, he makes a connection that is undeserved and unproductive, both for Free Republic, and for all of us who value Conservative American ideals via the Constitution and ALL of its Amendments.
We are cognizant of the assault by the ADL on the 2nd which we have organized against and are fighting with every fiber of our being. What is being done here is nothing less than character assassination of each and every one of us who happen to be American AND Jewish AND Conservative.

Certainly is an account of what would have happened if described by a Marine on site. Good article, many of us have to be reminded of the bravery that Embassy guards are required to demonstrate, not the cushy assignment some think. Bahrain is important to us, if only we could have our interests placed over the foreign lobbyists but as I watched that rally Monday I knew the goose is cooked.

I don't think you have a goose, mv1. You should try cooking your jackboots. I hear they taste great with garlic. Just be sure not to undercook them :)).

Far out. I feel your pain but there is nothing I can do about voting patterns. Blacks on Free Republic have no problem when we go after groups such as the NAACP. They lead the charge. I suggest you get used to it. Conservatives are not about to stop attacking those groups which attack them. Look at what paranoia about me did to your side on this thread. Seeing antisemites under every bed is not healthy.

I think most of us are well aware it's no cushy job to be a Marine Guard. I also think the people who need reminded the most are the Clintonistas who allowed them to be murdered by Islamic terrorists in Africa and in Somalia and never did a damn thing about it. My brother is a Marine. And every democrat that remains in office is my enemy.

The King of Bahrain is trying to stamp out the Shi'ite Hezbollah in the country as best he can. But there were more protests today. Now they want the US 5th Fleet to pull out (the Fleet headquarters are there). Those pro-Israel rallies sure don't help the situation. I don't know what is in people's heads. We can support Israel without rubbing that support in the face of those we need and who support us.

I have no paranoia about you, Larry. You are not unbiased and you do not confine yourself to anti-constitutional minded groups. You attack JEWS, plain and simple. It doesn't matter to you whether any of us Jooos are conservative or liberal. We just have to be Jooos. So save your crap for someone you might still try to convince. My gag reflex has had it for the day.

I don't see how your information proves anything about this. Looks like an email that may or may not be valid which made it's way around the net and was posted here with a phoney link after all.

How does your post jive with THIS? Please enlighten us, Larry. We have been asked BY WHOM to leave Bahrain?
I am copying this entire crap and forwarding it to the US Information Office at the US Embassy and the CO of the Fifth Fleet in Bahrain for clarification, and Lord help you if you have done this exploitation of our Servicemen for your own pitiful benefit and hateful agenda.

U.S. PLANS MILITARY AID INCREASE TO BAHRAIN
April 19, 2002

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The Bush administration has requested a major increase in military aid to Bahrain as part of the U.S.-led war against terrorism.

The administration's request comes as the Defense Department plans to expand U.S. military assets in the kingdom. Bahrain is one of several Gulf Cooperation Council countries meant to receive aircraft and other systems that have been removed from Saudi Arabia.

Officials said the administration has requested $28.5 million in the emergency supplemental budget for fiscal 2002. The money is meant to help countries that are participating in the U.S. campaign against terrorism. Bahrain is home for the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet, which patrols the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean.

The additional U.S. aid to Bahrain is meant to help the kingdom purchase military systems. The officials said Bahrain faces difficulties in purchasing undisclosed weapons from Washington.

With this post, all the Bahrain threads are now archived in MY files in preparation for confirmation from the US Embassy and the CO of the Fifth Fleet. ONE chance, Larry. You go too far.

We have been asked BY WHOM to leave Bahrain?

The Shi'ite Hezbollah protestors are demanding we leave. The King and the Shia minority want us there.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Bush administration assured the Arab world on Friday that it would keep working with Yasser Arafat on a pathway to peace.

But anti-American and anti-Israel sentiment was strong.

In Bahrain, more than 3,000 marched from a mosque in the capital Manama to the U.N. office chanting: ``Death to the U.S. and Israel!''

They burned an effigy of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and called on the government to close the U.S. Embassy and the U.S. base on the island. Bahrain hosts the headquarters of the U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/669267/posts

In other words, the Shi'ites are trying to do to us in Bahrain what they did to us in Iran. This protest was small. The last one drew 50,000. This is why I don't think it is such a great idea for Americans to wave Israeli flags at rallies. The video is picked up in places such as Bahrain. The more we are tied to Israel, the harder time is is for the minority in Bahrain to resist the will of the majority.

No. They will have to identify themselves to you. I don't keep track of things like that and considering many don't see the need to spell out what they are one only learns after writing to them via freep mail. You might check out Project 21. Several freepers are associated with that group.

But if you doubt conservative black attack black groups, just search on Ward Connerly, Armstrong Williams, Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams. There must be some conservative Jews who go after the liberal Jewish establishment the way conservative blacks go after the NAACP but I can't think of any. Rabbi Levin is the only person who comes to mind.

… then how much respect do YOU have for our Marines …

How dare you question my respect for any of our armed forces! Two of my brothers retired from the army, as my father did. I have a nephew in the Air Force, a son-in-law in the Navy, and a cousin in the Marines. I also have several nephews who are members of FDNY and NYPD. My hometown is Rockaway Beach, NY. We lost over seventy souls on 9/11, many my friends and neighbors. They are all heroes in my eyes.

Are you insinuating that I’m a liar? Obviously you know more about computers than I do. I’ve recently relocated to rural north-central Florida. If you’re ever in the area, stop by and take a look at my system, I'm sure you can fix the problem.
