JUDICIAL WATCH FIGHTS CLINTON IRS ATTEMPTED AUDIT
IRS OFFICIAL ADMITS: “WHAT DO YOU EXPECT WHEN YOU SUE THE PRESIDENT?”
(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the non-profit educational foundation that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it was fighting in court an audit attempt instituted by the Clinton IRS in retaliation for Judicial Watch’s litigation against President Clinton. Judicial Watch first received notice of an attempted IRS audit on October 9, 1998, a few days after its “Interim Impeachment Report,” which called for Bill Clinton’s impeachment for misuse of the IRS, was officially made part of the Congressional record. The IRS’s initial audit letter demanded that Judicial Watch “[p]rovide the names and addresses of the directors and their relationship to any political party or political groups.” In January, 1999, an IRS official admitted to Judicial Watch representatives, in the context of the propriety of the audit, “What do you expect when you sue the President?” Another IRS official admitted in June, 1999, that the political affiliations of Judicial Watch’s directors is a factor in any IRS audit.
After Judicial Watch scored legal victories against the Clinton Administration, Judicial Watch received audit notices and warnings from the IRS. For instance, immediately following its uncovering of the Clinton-Gore White House e-mail scandal in February, 2000, Judicial Watch lawyers received a call from an IRS official to inform them that Judicial Watch was still on the IRS’s “radar screen.” The IRS finally agreed to defer on deciding whether to audit Judicial Watch until after the Clinton Administration ended. Despite this agreement, in one of the last acts of the Clinton Administration, the IRS sent Judicial Watch another audit notice on January 8, 2001. The IRS also sent new audit notices throughout 2001 after Judicial Watch criticized IRS Commissioner Charles Rossotti. Rossotti is a Clinton appointee who “inexplicably” continues to serve under President Bush. In addition to presiding over the audits of perceived critics of the Clinton Administration, Judicial Watch requested criminal and civil investigations of Rossotti for his criminal conflict of interest in holding stock in a company he founded, AMS, while it did business with the IRS.
Judicial Watch now is fighting the attempted audit in federal courts in the District of Columbia and Maryland. As Robert Novak reports in his April 18th column, despite repeated requests to Attorney General Ashcroft to investigate, his Bush Justice Department has thus far refused to do so. “Judicial Watch has no objection to IRS audits at the proper time and place, under correct, non-political circumstances. We have nothing to hide. But when we were told that we were being audited because we sued Bill Clinton, we had no choice but to stand up and fight in court. Now, for its own reasons, the Bush Administration is content to let Clinton appointee Rossotti continue to harass Judicial Watch. Our lawsuits in response are intended not only to protect Judicial Watch, but are for the good of all Americans,” stated Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman.

Do you honestly believe there was no political motivation in the Clinton IRS going after Klayman? Then how do you explain the unreasonably high number of conservative organizations that were audited they were just "random"? How do you explain that virtually every one of the those individuals who went after Clinton or disclosed something damaging about him were audited within a short time of doing so? Do you need a list of all those names or have you been paying attention? Whether or not the Bush administration now has LEGITIMATE reasons to audit Klayman, it is ridiculous to maintain that the initial audit against Judicial Watch was anything more than payback and harassment.
Or, there could have been discrepancies as in the article deport posted above, which would certainly give "probable and reasonable cause" for further investigation.
Geeeee. Don't you think that all the "discrepancies" O'Reilly and others found in Jessie Jackson's organizations might give "probable and reasonable cause" for further investigation? I'll believe the Bush IRS audit of JW isn't politically motivated when I hear that Jackson has/is being audited. That being said ... audit away.
Well, I am sure that Judicial Watch will come through with an error free audit if they lose their current battle against it. It would take a lot to crush my outlook on life, I think.
Anyway, to address the rest of your reply, I am sure that Judicial Watch has probably already considered opening up a Midwest branch of their organization. I also assume that Chicago or the surrounding suburbs would be a no-brainer to them, especially if planning to open a branch in the Midwest. Chicago or its suburbs would definately be the best place to put it. There is plenty of corruption there. Perhaps they could help the along the Liscense for Bribes investigation, or the Chicago Outfit connection that so many local politicians have. Illinois needs Judicial Watch around to help rid the state of its rampant corruption.
...I remember those Long Beach Patriots fighting to save the Long Beach Navy Base from being turned over to the Communist Chinese Army Gang for Communsit China Army Money by the CLINTONS as they followed the CLINTON money trail right up to our Oval Office door and then stopping = No E-Mails.
...I remember TV Reports last friday on.. www.ExtraTV.com ..that BILL CLINTON could be replacing BYRANT GUMBALL on CBS' ..'The Early Show'..so he can propell his wife HILLARY "No E-Mails" CLINTON past BUSH into the Presidency in Year 2004 thru TV. He will also be taking this daily TV opportunity to scream over and over again to the American People about Sept 11th ..."It ain't my Fault, It ain't my Fault" ..when it IS, it IS.
NEVER FORGET... If ADOLF HITLER had had TV up his sleeve, the way the CLINTONS do now, he would have won World War II...

These move-on'ers sure do, don't they. Certainly more than the average person who might have contributed to them all those years and is feeling like nothing was accomplished. It makes you wonder what their real agenda is, doesn't it?
Just think, all Judicial Watch has to do is force the indictment of Hillary Clinton on ONE issue, and her candidacy for President will be finished!!
