Thanks for the info.

I guess I'm wondering what a 75yo is doing flying a fairly large airplane. Was it his personal plane? Was he a pilot for a commuter company? Did the plane have passengers?

You're welcome - the AeroCommander twin is not THAT big of an airplane. It's bigger than your everyday Cessna 172, but it's not airline-size. There are single engine planes about this size or even slightly bigger (just by eyeballing it - don't have the stats), such as the (very nice) Swiss Pilatus PC-12.

I personally know pilots of that vintage who fly stuff in the Confederate Air Force that is a LOT bigger than this plane. It's all their health, not the age. I know 45 year olds that I'd never fly with because of how poorly they take care of themselves.
