Sorry, there is a thing called appropriateness. Here on FR we usually bemoan the increasing ignoring of this etiquette. But a few feel that its more important to show how witty they are than to respect the situation. I'm not talking about the natural response to turn to humor to deal with difficult issues. But when a crash happens, with likely deaths(and a few minutes into the reporting of this, with a fire, how could anyone know for sure that there was zero risk of the building later collapsing, that it wasn't a terrorist act), its not good fodder for jokes. 3 dead so far, isn't that hilarious?
See, that's not what anybody is remotely joking about. Well, at least on my part. I thought the France comment was quite funny. I've made a point to report to people that don't have Fox as to what's going on, and I have also cracked a smile at some of the comments. It happens sometimes. Whilst we have reporters and everybody running around reporting this and that without confirmation, a good laugh is always good to calm people down a little bit.
