"My initial guess is that this is not a terrorist attack."

Still waiting for the second hit then? ;-)

>they were to play the tapes for the world of UBL, and not only that...but they have been showing clips since Monday.

That's not all -- Remember a few months ago, some outspoken Italian politician said that this war on terrorism is really a war of cultures, of Christianity against Islam and Christianity should win...

I don't have a link handy, but there were a couple of threads here with the comment. That might have got the bad guys angry...

There was one case in NYC back in the 1970s, when a man tried to fly a small plane into the skyscraper where his unfaithful wife and her lover worked. IIRC, damage was small and the intended victims escaped. That's the only case that I can remember. And my memory of it has become rather sketchy.

The B-52 in 1946 that crashed into the Empire State building, for one.

That was in very heavy fog, and at a time when there were not enough tall buildings for pilots to worry about them.

There was a report of a small plane crash just this morning that narrowly missed a house.

There tends to be a lot of houses on the ground, and ground is hard to miss. Tall buildings, however, are very easy to miss - especially on a clear sunny day.

Airplanes do not fly straight & level into the center of tall buildings on clear sunny days. They just don't.

The 25th floor is not the center of a 30 floor building. If the pilot had no control of the flaps, then it can happen. Or are you saying that it is with 100% certainty that it can never ever happen? Guess you can't say that huh?

Smoke rises from the Pirelli building in Milan, Italy Thursday, April 18, 2002. Officials said a small plane with only the pilot on board crashed Thursday into a 30-story landmark skyscraper in downtown Milan that houses the regional government offices. The weather was clear at the time. (AP Photo/Antonio Calanni)

Just trying to keep a fire from starting. I hate that crap. You are right about his shooting from the hip. Many others do as well and most have been here since day one.

3 dead so far, isn't that hilarious?

See, that's not what anybody is remotely joking about. Well, at least on my part. I thought the France comment was quite funny. I've made a point to report to people that don't have Fox as to what's going on, and I have also cracked a smile at some of the comments. It happens sometimes. Whilst we have reporters and everybody running around reporting this and that without confirmation, a good laugh is always good to calm people down a little bit.

And it was on a very foggy day. Very limited visability, not like today's "accident".

That's one in 55 years. In fog if I remember correctly.

What goes up must come down doesn't count.

White House press secretary Ari Fleischer (news - web sites) opened his lunchtime press briefing Thursday with this statement:

"The president just moments ago was informed about the incident in Milan. I have no additional information at all for you at this time. This is a breaking story and we don't have anything else beyond that — the president has been informed."

Helen Thomas: Why don't you S$$holes ever tell us anything? After all the despair caused by your administration since January 20, 2001, you then pile this on?!? Well, if this isn't the straw that breaks the camel's back! What the--hey, guys, I don't need that straitjacket! Let go of me! Help! HELLLP!!!

The 25th floor is not the center of a 30 floor building.

Not vertically center, but it was close to horizontally centered on the building.
