"Wow! The Xlintons had dinner together."

Well, technically, yes, they had dinner together....BUT, they were joined by Carville and Begala, the snake charmers. I don't think they could eat alone together, ever. Plus, how fitting the title of Peter King's book...."Deliver Us From Evil." (Don't know what the book is about.)

Peter King's book...."Deliver Us From Evil"

How interesting! I recently read a book with the same title by Ravi Zacharias, the brilliant Christian apologist from India, and the subtitle is, Restoring the Soul in a Disintigrating Culture.

There are references in it to the evil king Manasseh, who brought down the nation of Judah with him, and how the evil of one leader can destroy a nation, while another one (Josiah) can restore it because of his righteousness, and faithfulness to God.

Hmmmmmm, I see some parallels here in our own country in recent days. Does anyone else see it? :o)

There's a machine you can rent that cuts just under the grass so all you have to do is then roll up and cart off the turf. You might want to check w/your local tool rental center. No sense in busting your back if you don't have to.

home mogul Martha Stewart....For a woman who was "always at the center of everything," the sight of Ms. Stewart on her can seemed rather odd......
Within a few weeks, Mr. Waksal would be on his ass, too...

Oh, you do find the most delish articles!

~~Wavin'~~ to Endeavor.

Imagine HLL is growing those lovelies that were developed at U. of Minn. for growing in colder climes. I'm guessing HLL is Zone 5a compared to my Zone 5b (almost 4). Lake effect is a "Good Thing" when it isn't related to snow!

Took a very nasty fall on Monday of this week and had to cancel my Rally plans. Still struggling with some pulled muscles and bruises.

Yeah, Clinton is in D.C. with his lovely wife and future presidential candidate. He and Hillary even entertained on Sat. night. It was posted somewhere. The guests included all of Hillary's former staffers and it was speculated that they are deciding if and when she should run. That ties in with Carville and Begala having dinner with them. They are still hashing it out, I guess.

Is Cities restaurant the one that Carville owns? Can't imagine the Clinton's picking up the tab at any restaurant.

I wonder if rebellious Chelsea will get married soon; does Hillary have time to plan a big wedding bash? It will take time away from her campaigning? And that poor child Zachary. What a moniker. Boxer-Rodham. yuk...

Yes, I can grow azeleas. They are very popular around here. They don't get huge like in the south and you have to be very careful with them, but I have about 6 really lovely bushes. People are also surprised that I can grow a massive magnolia.

I have all flowering bushes in my front yard along with 300 tulips of varying colors of pink. Bulb flowers also do really well in our climate. I love them because you plant them once and you never have to bother with them again. I can't wait for my irises and tiger lillies this summer. Those multiply like crazy.

Life is great, thanks. I have so many events lately and I found out that tomorrow I have to be at an event at 8 am. I am a late riser, this is going to be very difficult.

My magnolia looks like it's snowing also. My front porch and walkway is just covered in white petals. So sad, I got 2 whole days of full bloom.

Howdy Gran,

Sorry to hear about your fall. I took a tumble about 2 months ago on some black ice and slightly pulled a hamstring. Still hurts occasionally.

Do you get The Weekly Standard? There were some excellent articles on the Middle East situation in last week's. How'd your "battle" turn out?

It's in the mid-80s here, so I think I'll go out to soak up some global warming ultraviolet rays, and plant petunias.

As in every battle, you win some and you loose some. We have a "Special" battle on Monday,,,, nothing will happen, it's just posturing on the part of the Big Guy.

More gag-worthy news:

The Democratic activist who registers the most new voters during the next week will be presented by Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe with two free tickets to a star-studded concert Wednesday at the Apollo Theater in New York.

Not just any concert, Mr. McAuliffe tells us, but a "once-in-a-lifetime" show, featuring Michael Jackson, Tony Bennett, K.D. Lang and last, but never least, the smokin' saxophone-playing Bill Clinton.

Mr. Clinton, if you've forgotten, is an accomplished musician who sat first chair on tenor saxophone in his Arkansas school band [Wow, that's really saying a lot] and went on to win all-state band honors. One of his favorite songs to play these days: "I Feel Good" by James Brown.

The Apollo concert kicks off the Democrats' "Every Vote Counts" campaign, a nationwide voter registration, education and mobilization effort aimed at attracting a record number of Democratic voters this November and again in 2004, when a yet-to-be-determined Democrat will try to unseat President Bush. I am matching the Democrat's proposal.

Any Guilder who signs up the most voters will win two tickets to the Grosse Pointe Farms Park Pavillion to hear various CDs and a live performance of yours truly on the piccolo and flute. I proudly sat last chair in my high school orchestra and marching band.

Dinner will be provided by Porky's Chicken N' Ribs.

Hmmm, tough choice. This sexually-confused bunch - "Michael Jackson, Tony Bennett, K.D. Lang and last, but never least, the smokin' saxophone-playing Bill Clinton" - or a piccolo-playing Guild member and CDs. Decisions, decisions. The chicken and ribs sound good, though, by golly - I'm going to sign up as many voters as I can!
