Well, technically, yes, they had dinner together....BUT, they were joined by Carville and Begala, the snake charmers. I don't think they could eat alone together, ever. Plus, how fitting the title of Peter King's book...."Deliver Us From Evil." (Don't know what the book is about.)
How interesting! I recently read a book with the same title by Ravi Zacharias, the brilliant Christian apologist from India, and the subtitle is, Restoring the Soul in a Disintigrating Culture.
There are references in it to the evil king Manasseh, who brought down the nation of Judah with him, and how the evil of one leader can destroy a nation, while another one (Josiah) can restore it because of his righteousness, and faithfulness to God.
Hmmmmmm, I see some parallels here in our own country in recent days. Does anyone else see it? :o)
Oh, you do find the most delish articles!
Imagine HLL is growing those lovelies that were developed at U. of Minn. for growing in colder climes. I'm guessing HLL is Zone 5a compared to my Zone 5b (almost 4). Lake effect is a "Good Thing" when it isn't related to snow!
Took a very nasty fall on Monday of this week and had to cancel my Rally plans. Still struggling with some pulled muscles and bruises.
Is Cities restaurant the one that Carville owns? Can't imagine the Clinton's picking up the tab at any restaurant.
I wonder if rebellious Chelsea will get married soon; does Hillary have time to plan a big wedding bash? It will take time away from her campaigning? And that poor child Zachary. What a moniker. Boxer-Rodham. yuk...
I have all flowering bushes in my front yard along with 300 tulips of varying colors of pink. Bulb flowers also do really well in our climate. I love them because you plant them once and you never have to bother with them again. I can't wait for my irises and tiger lillies this summer. Those multiply like crazy.
My magnolia looks like it's snowing also. My front porch and walkway is just covered in white petals. So sad, I got 2 whole days of full bloom.
Sorry to hear about your fall. I took a tumble about 2 months ago on some black ice and slightly pulled a hamstring. Still hurts occasionally.
Do you get The Weekly Standard? There were some excellent articles on the Middle East situation in last week's. How'd your "battle" turn out?
The Democratic activist who registers the most new voters during the next week will be presented by Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe with two free tickets to a star-studded concert Wednesday at the Apollo Theater in New York.
Not just any concert, Mr. McAuliffe tells us, but a "once-in-a-lifetime" show, featuring Michael Jackson, Tony Bennett, K.D. Lang and last, but never least, the smokin' saxophone-playing Bill Clinton.
Mr. Clinton, if you've forgotten, is an accomplished musician who sat first chair on tenor saxophone in his Arkansas school band [Wow, that's really saying a lot] and went on to win all-state band honors. One of his favorite songs to play these days: "I Feel Good" by James Brown.
The Apollo concert kicks off the Democrats' "Every Vote Counts" campaign, a nationwide voter registration, education and mobilization effort aimed at attracting a record number of Democratic voters this November and again in 2004, when a yet-to-be-determined Democrat will try to unseat President Bush. Washington Times.
Any Guilder who signs up the most voters will win two tickets to the Grosse Pointe Farms Park Pavillion to hear various CDs and a live performance of yours truly on the piccolo and flute. I proudly sat last chair in my high school orchestra and marching band.
Dinner will be provided by Porky's Chicken N' Ribs.
