THE MASSACRE THAT WASN'T

April 17, 2002 -- For days, Palestinian, U.N. and aid-group officials declared flatly that Israeli troops had perpetrated a horrendous massacre of innocent civilians at the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank.

Once outside observers were allowed into the camp, they charged, it would be clear that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's soldiers had committed a monstrous war crime that would eclipse the killing fields of Kosovo.

Sorry Alex, we can't.

I know a Jew-baiter when I see one. This guy wasn't bitching at all when Jews were being blown up. He's only crying because the Palestinians are taking it on the chin. And he's posting every possible bit of agitprop that's being put out by the Pallies and peddling it as gospel.

That tells me everything I need to know.

I don't give brownshirts ANY quarter.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

It's cheap, easy and the fastest way to discredit your intellect

Not if backed up with facts. The easy way to present these facts is to present your own words. So just back off and wait, please, while I fry your pal in his own rethoric.

Try not to squirm, it's distracting.

All I see is a name-calling.

Indeed. As in Jethro going: Sharon is Satan! Of course, that kind of rethoric binds you to certain social groups. And it's not as if it was an isolated case :). We also have (in his own words) that he's not a conservative, that he calls the right "fascist", that he's "maybe a paleo". To make the connection of "paleo" to national socialist thinking is so straightforward that if you don't get it you're wilfully blind or too stupid to go and get the background material - it's approaching, as I said, the codephrases "88" and "14 words" in popularity among the crazies.

And of course, the clincher: his obvious and rabid Jewhate ;).

That's not the worst of it. What really incensces me is his appropriation of the good name of what was one of the really great bands to come out of Great Britain in the 1970's.

I wonder if Jethro will bring "Thick As A Brick" to the meeting of the White People's Party Totenkopfverbande in Idaho? Rather apropos, don't you think?

Chris

Try not to jump to conclusions (or denials) until all the facts are in, mmkay?

Sounds like better advice for the one giving it.

What's a "paleo"?

Stands for "paleoconservative", in and of itself an innocent enough thing. Many fine paleoconservatives, i believe. But it has turned into a codephrase which you find where Nazis congregate.

It's sort of reminiscent of a "converted" Papuan cannibal going: "I am a new man - I don't eat people, and not rats..". In the same way many Nazis now like to call themselves "paleos", root for "America First" (and of course, if you look up Charles Lindbergh and go behind the hero thing you find "America First", a deep friendship with Herrman Goering and a desire to move to Berlin).

"88" Stands for Heil Hitler. 88=HH=Heil Hitler. It's becoming too well known, however, so the "towering intellects" of national socialism are loath to use it lest they be associated with the riffraff :).

Jenin refugees dig five survivors from rubble

LOL...uh, Jethro, I'm pretty sure Tom meant dead bodies and not live people.

In any case, this Reuters guy is merely reporting what an alleged witness SAID. He didn't see the five people pulled from the rubble with his own eyes, did he?

He didn't go to Jenin Hospital to verify the existence of the five survivors or get a report on their status, did he?

And, even though he was standing right there as the residents "clawed their way through the rubble with shovels and pickaxes", he didn't hear all those others calling out for help, did he? No, he's only reporting that this guy SAID they could hear others calling for help.

Some of these articles are truly laughable. It's what passes for journalism these days.

Tell you what. I have a number in my head--118. Wanna do an Over/Under? They're already up to 48 bodies. If they hit 118 or higher, I'll owe you a beer or an eloquent retraction, take your pick.

I'm taking "Under", of course.

Okay then. Over or under 118 in Jenin, standing by.

I'd like to make a minor adjustment to the terms of our wager.

About an hour ago I saw that insufferable Adam Shapiro parroting the phrase "hundreds of Palestinians killed in Jenin". Hearing a known liar say it makes me bold enough to lop the number down a bit.

I am now prepared to "pay up" if the IDF killed more than *98* Palestinians in Jenin.

I just don't want to use a figure that can be spun by anyone as "hundreds". If Adam Shapiro wants to be truthful he'll have to say "almosta hundred"; hope he chokes on it.

The Palestinians are using the "Jenin Massacre" to counter the Israeli outrage at the "Passover Massacre" that triggered the military incursions in the first place.

Oh hell, I believe three tragedies happened in Jenin.

1.The Israelis did not have JDAMs at their disposal to take out the Pallie terrorists from above.

While I love all the support for Israel here, let's just be careful not to go so far as to imply Israel goes house to house while the U.S. bombs. The U.S. uses JDAM's against military facilities, caves, etc., not built up areas still dense with civilians.

Military situations are rarely identical. For example, the Palestinians are even worse with bobbytrapping houses and hiding behind civilians then were the Taliban. Israel went house to house because the alternative was a real massacre of a kind neither the U.S. nor Israel would commit. Of course, the Europeans are already reacting to this like Israel did use JDAM's, and facts won't matter much over there. God bless America.
