I just visted a friend at Diablo Valley Community College. WOW. This is a major lefty demonstation. Flyers are everywhere.

As a result I've changed my stance from "I might be there" to "I'll be there, unless I get a better offer."

OK, so it sounds like Sat. 12 noon at the steps of city hall as a rally point.

OK, let's do this thaaaaang! I've got a caravan of three so far from San Jose with me, deeel, and one other. We should be relatively easy to spot as we should be the only ones with patriotic/anti-terrorism sentiments and American flags.

Saturday 12 noon start time at city hall! I just heard a blurb that somebody sent to KSFO that it was at 1pm at the civic center, but let's concentrate our efforts at city hall at 12 noon and brace for the 1pm arrivals.

An interesting aside.....last weekend, a friend and I were at City Lights Bookstore (liberal lefty socialist store) in North Beach. We were commenting on all the Marxist literature. One boyish-looking woman overheard us and actually followed us down the street to a (liberal lefty socialist) coffee house and literally sat there for 20 minutes staring at us. Kinda weird. It was definitely not my imagination.

At the risk of being paranoid, this is an open group and all kinds are attracted. 99% are great, BUT there are some FReepers who I wouldn't want them to know where I live.

At several FReeps that I've been on, it would be charitable to describe one or two of the participants as WACKO NUT JOBS. So I open my house only to those I've previously meet and don't wear tin foil hats!

You'll get to see the Berkeley trash firsthand. As for the good students of UC Berkeley (currently in the occupied territory of Alameda County), we'll be doing our part on our campus, actually. Saturday the 20th is the annual "Cal Day" where prospective students come and look at the campus. One tradition is that, every year, ROTC rappels down the face of Wheeler Hall. Every year it is also traditional for the Spartacus Youth Club, a local Trostkyist organization, to protest them. This year the ROTC is particularly worried about protests, what with the war and all, and requested interested individuals to counter demonstrate.

Normally people ignore the Sparts because they're silly, and we don't usually counter protest them (the much bigger danger on our campus is the International Socialist Organization), so this is going to catch them totally off guard. It will be great.

Working from behind enemy lines to support our front-line Freep troops, respectfully yours, Lt. Colnel Clam of the Berkeley Free Brigade (ok, I just made that up).
