John, I couldn't agree more......Missouri needs a change. BTW. our present MO Constitution (of which I have a copy in my hand) dates from 1945, not 1875. True, the section you quote is in the present one, and the source was the Const. of 1875, but that just illustrates why we need a change so much. Laz, the one (maybe) faint bright spot here is that Missouri is one of the states that allows amending its Constitution by initiative petition, without a Constitutional Convention. That's how we got Prop. B a year or so back (a CCW ballot issue that was narrowly defeated by the denizens of St. Louis & Kansas City). Who knows, though, perhaps if it was worded a little better, or maybe the timing might be better now.......

Who knows, though, perhaps if it was worded a little better, or maybe the timing might be better now.......Correct on both counts. Personally, I'm certain that either would have put it over the top. The wording was EXTREMELY misleading as to the financial cost of Prop. B. I have heard some rumors within the gun rights community that this was done deliberately, basically at behest of the anti-gunners and then gov Mel Carnahan.
