We have a problem. I learned some things about Jim Ryan. He is undergoing his third bout with cancer right now. He is quite ill and this will negatively impact the campaign. That means that Blagojovich will likely win unless we work VERY HARD, and that means for 4 years, statewide gun control will be offered about 7 to 12 times every day. No CCW will be offered, and no State Premption law either.

Why doesn't Jim Ryan step aside? Would that leave an open spot on the ticket or would O'Malley as the 2nd run become the party's candidate for the fall election?? I admit I don't know the rules on this one at all.

Aside from cancer, Jim Ryan is DOA if he doesn't change course in this campaign. Even former Governor Jim Edgar (R, 1991-1999) said yesterday that he is "pessissmitic " and believes "Ryan is fighting an uphill battle". Jim Edgar finally denounced his "sucessor" George Ryan yesterday (who he was never too fond of in the first place). But Jim Ryan will only given token "disapproval" of him. If Jim Ryan keeps going the way he is, either Blagojevic will have to SCREW UP on the campaign trial big time-- OR Jim Ryan will have to bow out in favor of Lt. Governor nominee Carl Hawkinson.
The Illinois GOP is finally waking up to reality after shoving Ryan down our throats during the primary because "he can win". Well, can he?

IF this is true, this is a sad day in Illinois for firearms owners.
