Even though I live in NC, I do not smoke and I do not farm. However, I believe it is illegal for anyone to grow tobacco without permission (called an allotment)from the federal government. These allotments can be bought and sold and do not necessarily stay with the land.

Pamlico, I sure couldn't say one way or the other. I know people that do grow their own tobacco. I wish they would come in. Wonder how they do it.
