I watched the infamous Seabrook nuclear plant being built in the '70s (my father's shop was a mile away on the saltmarsh) and can state that there is going to have to be a massive re-education of the population around any proposed nuclear power plant. The disinformation that contributed to the delays and cost-overuns almost killed that plant before it was completed.
Also, one of the biggest problems with the old GE water cooled plants was the threat of corrosion. The number of safety backups that were mandated because of the fear of cooling pipe failure greatly increased the cost of those plants. Helium cooling should solve that problem.
