ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, FREEPERS HAVE BLOW-OUT PARTY
Orange County Freepers
| April 13, 2002
| WillaJohns & Badjoe & Diotima
Posted on 04/13/2002 9:34:48 PM PDT by WillaJohns
Seenenuf gathered the troops and descended on Badjoe & Willa's house for a barbeque feast and Freep Fest. Attending were seenenuf, Badjoe, WillaJohns, Diotima, dalereed, SoAmerRepublican, NYCityGal, OC-Flyfish, Texican and Mrs. Texican, Ernest-at-the-Beach, Khorkris, VeggieTodd, LedZep75, Pam, a lurker, Dr. Liberty, and Kevin.
This was the first Orange County Chapter get-together in a year. We talked, we ate, we freeped, we talked some more, we made new friends, and decided we're going to do it again July 13. In the interim, we discussed becoming an activism chapter, talked about Simon's upcoming election and showing up at his Orange County appearance to support him, and Freeping Gray (Lights Out) Davis when he comes to Orange County.
All attending Freepers went home with collector's item March for Justice T-shirts, Badjoe's foldable FreeRepublic.com pocket beer can cozies, a copy of "The Mainspring of Human Progress," Free Republic bumperstickers, American flag bumperstickers, cigarette lighters and cigars [for all who wanted them].
Seenenuf is the new chapter leader and has taken the bull by the horns and is bound and determined to see to it that we have a successful rabblerousing chapter. Seenenuf's dog is almost famous, he was on TV during impeachment with his "Buddy is a Liar" T-shirt. She also filled up a couple petitions for Ward Connelly's California proposition to eliminate race checking on State matters.
All you Orange County Freepers and Lurkers missed a great party and a great bunch of patriots. Please mark your calendars for the next party, which will be held July 13 at Badjoe and WillaJohns's home. [Badjoe is threatening to put a contract out on any who don't show up next time.]
In the interim, before the next party (July 13, mark your calendars, did I already mention that?), we expect to be participating in a few quick freeps. If you are not on the Orange County Chapter roster, please freepmail seenenuf or email her at jbusch@fea.net.

Clairemont isn't that far from Huntington Beach, huh! It's not exactly Orange County, but you'll love us. Send me your em addy, and I'll have you on that 'outta the territory' list, for future info. jbusch@fea.net

Nervous? YOU were nervous? So was I. But it didn't take long to know that I wouldn't have to 'watch my back'. Tell your buddy what he missed - and I hope to see you guys in July!

Your Camera is sooo kewl. And now, that I see the results, I'm impressed - well, sometimes that light switch on the wall impresses me - like, how'd it do that? But your camera is trick to the max. Does it drive? Watch Fox? Dr. Dio, it was great to get so much info from you. Thanks for all the hours and hours of work you do for FR and helping me get jump started.

I like "Dump Davis". Short and sweet, but I'll work on coming up with some of my own.

WHOA!
What a great party that was! I would have posted sooner but I'm just recovering from it now!
Seriously, credit must be given where credit is due, and BadJoe and WillaJohns were outstanding hosts and thanks must be given for their fine hospitality!
Seenenuf demonstrated a great knack for organization and leadership and that she'll be a kick-butt leader of the Chapter. Also she must be given credit for her directions, even though I did get lost it was because I foolishly relied on Yahoo maps (never again). Thank God Willa was able to get me back going the right direction - thanks again!
Diotima gave us some good pointers from her vast knowledge of all things freep and I'm sure in our many freeps to come they will all come in handy. Now we know who to call whenever we dont know who to call. Thanks for making the trip down to join us.
Anyone who missed it really missed out. It was a great group and I look forward to seeing ya all again soon.

It is a training class for new coaches. I sent off an email to see if there is another class available. Will let you know.

Yes, I was a little nervous, but it went away almost instantly. I felt like I was home. The weather was great, the food was great, but most of all the people were great. I can't wait until next time when we have ALL the OC Freepers there. What an awesome time we're gonna have!

Great Pictures and thanks for posting them.

"I am finding out that some freepers don't look up at the right corner to notice they have 'freep mail'. Humm, I wonder if a bell is a possibility?"
Well, wasn't that a nice little condescending note. Guess what? I went back to look at my Freepmail, and lo and behold, no message from seenenuf. Don't think even a cannon would have gotten my attention for a missing message, much less your little bell. Don't bother to ring it the future, I won't be listening.

Oh boy - am I in the doghouse! No excuses re Fmail, other than the lists were quickly changing. BUT, Fmail was used for those without Email addys. I quickly delete my sent Fmail to save bandwidth. However, the info & directions were sent via e-mail because of length. I know your address is still on the email sent 4/5 list, and that it was seen by all, because it was sent in error to all without being "BCCopied" At least one more e-mail was sent to you on 10th. The post office did not return, so I assumed you rec'd. My goal was get a hugh turnout, and not overlook any lead I could glean to get that accomplished. On second thought you may realize I thought a bell for Fmail was an idea for my use and anyone else not yet familiar with using freepmail. You ol' hands at FR need to cut us newbies some slack. I really will appreciate any help you can give me with trying to make the OC Chapter have 'legs' and a lot of fun.

You didn't get a returned mail because my email provider, @Home.com, went out of business and Cox.net took over their accounts. I don't blame you or anyone for not getting through to me...no big deal. I do, however, have a problem with being talked down to. If you intend to lead the OC chapter, a little patience, tact, and less backside covering will help your efforts. Good luck to you.
To: seenenuf
I am dumbfounded at the reply to you above. You said nothing wrong, you were not condescending, you worked very very hard to make our chapter get together very successful. I am very grateful for your efforts.
Any whispers of Simon or Gray (Lights Out) Davis coming to town for a freeping opportunity?
To: DrLiberty
Hey Doc, thanks for dropping by the thread. It was great meeting you. Don't forget to mark your calendar for July 13, but hopefully we'll have a freeping opportunity before that date. What a great day we had!
To: nycgal
Thanks for posting the pictures. They're all great, but that picture of SoAmericanRepublican and Diotima is fantastic! Next time we meet, perhaps you could go over with me how you did it..... please?
To: Luis Gonzalez
Let me guess, my invitation got lost in the mail? Oh, Luis, if I'd only known. But I'll be listening Thursday to you and Mr. Ramirez on FR Radio. That's a show I don't want to miss!
To: WillaJohns
Yes, Willa, it appears that Bill Simon is going to appear. In Orange County,, on Friday the 19th. Noon, at the Phoenix Club in Anaheim. Chapter Freepers are going to take a pass on this welcoming opportunity and look for a bigger venue (street corner)as we get nearer to election time. But, if I lived in the neighborhood, I'd go wave and enjoy that 'Help is on the way'!

I'll be happy to show you how, next time we're together (7/13?). Didn't do anything special. Just did what my photography teachers drilled into me. "Get up close and fill the frame"
Too bad I allowed that tree to grow out of diotima's head :)

Willa:
My lovely wife and I had a wonderful time Saturday. We renewed old friendships and made many new friends. And those chocolet dipped strawberries were the best. (I ate way to many) I must say that this was a great way to spend two hours on a beautiful California Saturday. We are looking forward to July 13, and any Freeping of "Gray out Davis".
I liked Joe's suggestion about the signs for Simmons, we are going to call his office and see if we can get some signs to put out. Again
THANKS TO YOU AND BAD JOE FOR HOSTING THIS GET-TOGEATHER Have a nice evening and the very best to all Freepers World wide.
