PORTLAND, Ore. -- A tree sitter in the Mount Hood National Forest died after falling 150 feet from a tree she was trying to protect from logging.
In a sad twist, the sale of timber the woman was protesting had been canceled three days before her death on Friday.
Local rescue crews struggled up snow-clogged dirt roads to reach the tree sitters' camp in the Eagle Creek wilderness area, east of Portland, after a fellow activist called 9-1-1 on a cell phone at about 7 p.m., Clackamas County Sheriff's spokeswoman Angela Blanchard said.

There she was, on a branch,
suddenly, she bought the ranch,
a screeching sound she did make,
this species, called a flake LOL! I hope it's easy to find words that rhyme with the deceased's name. Bet she was a vegan, too. Based on that thought, her epitaph should read something like:
Here lies the body of our Anna
Done to death by a banana
It wasn't the fruit that laid her low
But the skin of the thing that made her go.

Is OSHA going to investigate possible violations of tree-sitting regulations and place a moratorium on tree-sitting until safety standards are implimented? This is the second tree-sitter to die in the last year.

Was that a Redwood Peckerhead or was that a Redhead Peckerwood?

...after a fellow activist called 9-1-1 on a cell phone at about 7 p.m 911? Was there no Druid Shaman available? No Sprit Healer? Could no one have applied a poultice brewed up of local herbs?
Huh. I would have thought that "back to earth" remedies would be the first thing this crowd would try. Have they no faith?

Y'know, I was all set to post something along the lines of having respect for the dead. |
Then I read your reply and started laughing uncontrollably.

Very nice. Cloud. BTW, lest anyone think I'm cold, let it be known that I reserve my sorrow for children who go to bed hungery, children who are abused, women who are raped, soldiers who die in battle.
I have no sorrow for someone who perches 15 stories high without bracing, eco-terrorists, people who "spike" trees (which they claim to love) people who destroy jobs to save a snail darter, whose natural life span is maybe 2 weeks.
I also have no sorrow for the homicide bombers. Killing soldiers in battle is one thing, murdering civilians is quite another.
