Thanks. Am still wary of Norton. It's Clean Sweep did me in several OS's ago. It's fax still won't work with XP and has not been installed again.

I think Ghost is reinstalled but I'd have to check. Guess I haven't familiarized myself with Ghost enough.

Now I'm pondering finding a RAID card that XP already supports;upgrading memory to 1.5 GIGABYTES FROM 1--given that the 1 Gigabyte RAM cards run as much as a new computer. around $900 USD.

Thinking of adding a DVD writable but wondering which brand to get. Getting a new big tower that rolls themother board out the back while still connected--for working with it. Pondering what else to get before I leave Taipei and cheaper components.

Will probably get a video card etc. and dedicated HD's for video movie captures etc. Any recommendations?

Also, have a Sound Blaster audio card that's only about a year old. And can't get but one channel to work on a 5 speaker surround speaker system by Logitech. No clue on that problem. Hasn't been a priority given all the others.

Thanks for your comment. UHHHH how does one use GHOST?

So am I. But they haven't wrecked 'Ghost' yet..

It's Clean Sweep did me in several OS's ago.

I used it before and after Symantec bought it. Never caused me any problems, 'cept when screwing with the registry. ;-)

It's fax still won't work with XP and has not been installed again.

Never used it.

You ought to. Start with Ghost boot wizard. I don't know your particular setup, but you might be able to image to CD (provided you have a burner. I image to my server). Ghost PE doesn't support all CD burners, yet.

Now I'm pondering finding a RAID card that XP already supports;

Well - I can't help you there..

upgrading memory to 1.5 GIGABYTES FROM 1--given that the 1 Gigabyte RAM cards run as much as a new computer. around $900 USD.

Sheesh..My wife got me a gig of RAM for about 200$ last Christmas. I knew that prices were rising again, but damn!

Thinking of adding a DVD writable but wondering which brand to get.

Can't help you there, either. But a buddy of mine picked one up at the local computer show for $410. It was a steal. Can't remember the brand, but I know it was a major brand.

Check out PC Mods. You should be able to find a nice selection there.

Well here's a link from PC World for the latest in video. As for the HD, I always stick w/Western Digital. Get the biggest one(s) you can afford. Digital video eats HD space like no tomorrow.

Can't help you on this either.

Thanks for your comment. UHHHH how does one use GHOST?You're welcome...and start with the Ghost boot Wizard.

Good luck!
