I think I stupidly had 3 palmtop computers from HP as well as 3 printers. ALL THEIR PRODUCTS WERE INFURIATING increasingly over the time I used them. I finally gave up on the company. I kept thinking I'd gotten a lemon or some such. Naw, has to be design or production factors that are just enough flawed to be very, very troublesome.

Take it back and get your money back. HP makes lousy computers. Cut your losses and buy a real PC.
