The Palestinian/Israeli issue is much more similar to the USA/illegal Mexican issue. Our infection point is our common border. Liberalism and a lack of political will allows the infection to flourish. And ironically, Democracy is the method which Mexicans...like Palestinians...exploit to gain political control. Palestinians have a much higher birth rate than Israelis (6:2.3). Their population is increasing faster that Israelis, so they will soon have a majority. The same tactic is being used in the Southwest USA. Look at the political scene of Texas and California. And those states are not exactly politically insignificant. It is a valid non violent political weapon. And it can happen if a country doesn't have the will to enforce it's laws and prevent it. Times are surely changing. This is not a judgement....but more an obsevation.

While I agree with most of the essay (hard to argue against objective historical facts), there are a few caveats I would add. First, the jews were given the land by GOD (from the Mediterranean to the Euprates River). Second, no other nation has ever been wiped from their land only to appear 2,000 years later (1948) - this is evidence of Providence. Third, the Commanches as well as the majority of other native indian tribes were warlike and violent, and were not the innocent indiginous victims they are protrayed to be by revisionists. I could add much more, but this is enough for now.

In the case of "Palestinian" Arabs, what is lost? Why their sense of humiliation? This conflict cannot be understood until one understands that the hostility is based in RELIGION. Period. This is a religious war, and the sooner everyone succumbs to this truth, the better.

"American Indians Arent Like Palestinians"
No, they're not. By and large, American Indians possessed honor.

well if the Big G says so I guess we all just better butter up and listen. That would be wise, but the arabs are not wise. There is other evidence of God's hand in this; namely, the miraculous victories by Israel over superior forces in 1948, 1956, 1967 and 1973. I hope all arabs take heed - ISAREAL WILL NEVER BE WIPED FROM THE LAND AGAIN. Any who do not take heed will continue suffer the grievous consequences for their hostile aggressions.

First, the jews were given the land by GOD (from the Mediterranean to the Euprates River). Question: Is there any difference between Israelites & Jews?

Hey, BUMP for a great commentary!
Err...just off the top of my head, can I take it that the Muslim terrorists are back to the "we not so different, you and me. You might even be one of our lost tribes" tactic on Native Americans again, and the author is rebutting the notion...again?
The Arab fanatics have been trying to recruit Native Americans, using this tactic, at least once a decade since the '60's. I'm wondering if they're at it again.

You are correct.

How is a "nation" defined? A nation is defined by etiher geography, culture, religion or language. What defined jewishness during the diaspora? I believe it was culture and religious heritage. The jewish people never stopped their religious rituals. While many of today's Israelis are secular, they are jews by heritage, if not culture, religion or language. Of course, the geneology can no longer be traced accurately back to the time of the Roman destruction of Judah, but the very existence of the ancient heritage is evidence that it has been passed down through the generations. By the way, there never has been a way for arabs to prove they are descended from Ishamael, and in fact, there are strong arguments against that claim (ever ready Robert Morey?).

Aren't Jews supposed to be descended from Judah?
To: exmarine
The genealogy can no longer be traced??? A study of DNA in Y-chromosomes showed genetic links among Jewish men of priestly descent. According to Jewish tradition these men are all descendants of Aaron. A fascinating piece of science.
See Priestly Gene Shared By Widely Dispersed Jews
and The Cohanim-DNA connection
For the technical details see Nature 394 (1998) 138-140 -- this is science not pseudoscience.

If the Palestinians are really like the American Indians,
then the best way to settle the dispute
is to let the Palestinians run all the casinos in Israel.

Aren't Jews supposed to be descended from Judah? Jews are descended from all 12 tribes, not just Judah.
