If militant anti-man feminism has become linked in men's minds with women of high achievment, then perhaps she should look to her own gender and ask why. Better yet, she could just look at her own article, it reeks of hostility toward men.
I find it both funny and sad that she so clearly demonstrates the cause of the problem without even realizing it.
Men will continue to pass over the shrews of the world and look for mates who demonstrate and ability to at least get along. If having a husband and children are so important to her, she should try to stop insulting men and demanding they change to suit her.

Well, the part about the monkeys in Dowd's column is silly, but she's dead on about the guys shying away from smart girls. My friends and I all commiserate about dropping the "P-Bomb" (Princeton, our alma mater) when guys hit on us. Then we watch them scurry away. Why? we might be smarter than them. And most fragile male egos can't handle that.

Maybe they're just trying to be polite, and the real reason for the "scurrying" has to do with unattractiveness.
You never know.

If men would only give up their silly desire for world dominance, the world would be a much finer place.
Look at the Taliban. Look at the Vatican
That's a cheap shot, but not surprising coming from Dowd.

Bonobos, or pygmy chimpanzees, live in the equatorial rain forests of Congo and have an extraordinarily happy existence. They sleep in the forest without houses, never take vacations, and have to put up with females screaming at them all day long. I bet they never get to hold the remote either. Not what I'd call an extraordinarily happy existence. If she want's to sleep with animals then that's her choice. I prefer humans.
When will the feminazis wake up to the fact that men want women to be women, not men. We want someone to stay home and raise babies and make our house a home. Of course it helps if she's good looking to. (I thank God that I found one).
As to the title, what makes her think that any harvard business school graduate can hold a candle to my wife in the strength of character realm (or in bed).
God Save America (Please)

Laurav: Never met a Princeton alumna who wasn't a schnauzer. Let's hope you are the exception.

The developments of the 60s cult of sex is getting really old. Why people are still fascinated by it like lower IQ idiots, I wonder.

Maureen spins yet another reason why Michael Douglas dumped her for Catherine Zeta-Jones. Ha!

Women, unhappy they're women, try to be men. But now, they are unhappy being "men" who gave up womanhood.
There is no shame in being a feminine female. Dowd needs to get over it. Men don't like her because she's mean. Also, why would a man want to marry a woman who despises women who are WOMEN? If a man wants a family he is looking for a partner who is kind, caring , loving, able to be homemaker who would make both an excellent lover and a nurturing mother to his children. That is not hard to understand -- anymore than it is hard to understand why a women chooses a MAN and not a girly boy.
To: Grig
Men, apparently, learn early to protect their eggshell egos from high-achieving women. No, Maureen. We just don't bother with bitter, angry, shrieking harpies like you whose biological clock has run out and still can't find a man.
To: John O
Bump for feminine females.

The NYT invented the Op-Ed page in 1970. It is pretty extraordinary to watch it fall this far.
If there is anything in this column of any consequence at all, I'd be happy to have it pointed out to me.

So, it's the man's fault that anti-men feminists have trouble finding a mate?
As for me, I like educated women. Nevertheless, I wouldn't want to date a woman that agrees with this article.

If having a husband and children are so important to her, she should try to stop insulting men and demanding they change to suit her. You're exactly right. I don't think men give a damn what women do for a living, as long as they're pleasant to get along with.

I suggest treating your intelligence with humility. It's okay to be smart, but remember the man has to make (or think he is making) the decisions.
To: decarlo
There's nothing wrong with a strong, smart, successful, sexy woman. In fact, there are no hard women, only soft men.
