Clemency Question Part Of Larger Picture - After two decades, I still remember the mood of celebration in Puerto Rico when President Jimmy Carter pardoned five jailed Puerto Rican nationalists.....In 1950, Oscar Collazo shot his way into Blair House, where President Harry Truman was living while the White House was under restoration. Collazo was wounded in the assassination attempt. A second gunman, Griselio Torresola, shot and killed a guard and was himself killed in the attack. In 1954, Lolita Lebron, Rafael Cancel Miranda, Irving Flores and Figueroa Cordero entered the House of Representatives, where they opened fire on U.S. lawmakers from the visitors' gallery. Five members of Congress were wounded by the hail of bullets.

The FBI made available to the media a blurry, black and white surveillance videotape from August 3, 1983 showing two of the Puerto Rican terrorists, released by President Clinton, making a bomb, thus contradicting the claim that none pardoned were directly tied to violence. FNC's Carl Cameron appeared briefly on last Thursday's Special Report with Brit Hume and Fox Report to show it as Fox affiliate WFLD in Chicago was the first news outlet to obtain it. The New York Times hysterically denounced the decision to release Bosch, claiming that Bosch was "known" for bombings. With slightly more plausibility, Bill Clinton is "known" for murdering Vince Foster. The Times also accused Bosch of being "a hero in the anti-Castro communities." If liberals hated homicidal Muslim fanatics half as much as they hate anti-communist Cubans, all of America would finally be behind the war on terrorism.
