I'm a third generation Texan on my father's side and second generation on my mother's. I would never want to live anywhere else. However, my husband's company has sent us to many states in this great country on business trips and in each one I have found people and places that are unique and wonderful. My dream is to get back to the beautiful beaches in Sanibel, Florida, to get to see those great historical places in Massachusetts again, and to get to eat at Mader's in downtown Milwaukee again. God Bless Texas and God Bless every state in this great country.

Val, I'm gonna have to challenge you to a Texas photo "shoot off". You compose some very nice pictures.
To all other Texans here - The Houston FRN Chapter will be celebrating at the San Jacinto (Sand - Juh - Senta) battleground April 20th. Come on down and join us!

That looks like one HAPPY cow! I always felt sorry for the cows out in the part of west Texas where I lived for a while...out there in all that cactus and rocks! My husband used to tell me that the ranchers would sometimes take cutting torches when it stayed dry for too long and burn the needles off the cactus so the cows could eat them. The cows would get a taste for cactus and every now and then he would see a cow that had eaten undoctored cactus walkng around with lips bristling with cactus needles! OUCH! Hurts to think about it!

Ever see the King Of The Hill episode where Hank learns he was born in NYC? Classic episode. Kinda like the story of my life. (Except I always knew I was born in NYC, and I unfortunately have to come back every so often - like now. Bleech!)

That's funny-- 'round my part of Texas, it's "Texan by birth, Aggie by the grace of God."
