GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - About two-thirds of Florida residents believe the state should do more to teach people how to cast ballots, according to a survey released Tuesday.
About 91 percent of 273 respondents to last months University of Florida survey said they had no difficulty voting in the disputed 2000 presidential election and were not confused by the process. Still, most thought more voter education was necessary.
The sheer number of voters encountering optical-scan and touchscreen equipment for the first time means nearly everyone in some counties is an inexperienced voter, and inexperienced voters tend to make more mistakes if they dont receive adequate explanations, said Clifford Jones, an election law expert at the university.
The random telephone survey was conducted last month by researchers at the universitys journalism school. The survey had a margin of error of plus or minus 4 points.

Just goes to show, that if you say something as many times as you can to as many people as you can, you can turn fiction into fact.

"And if you're a good little voter, and don't leave any hanging chads, you'll get a cookie and a shiny button! Won't that be nice?"

Absolutely. How difficult can it be? Touch the screen where you want your vote to go. Like stick the little pin in the hole next to the name you want to vote for. This is so stupid it doesn't deserve acknowledgement. Those nice people at the pole who ask to see your registration card will be happy to have someone on duty at the pols show anybody who questions how to use the TV where you touch to vote, just how you can accomplish that. It couldn't be simpler!

Well that's what you get when the Dems drive the sheep to market.
