Red Heifer Born in Israel (IsraelNN.com) In these days of difficulty for the Land of Israel, there is encouraging news as well...
It can now be revealed that less than one month ago, a red heifer was born in Israel. After the heifer's owner contacted the Temple Institute, on Friday, April 5th, 2001, Rabbi Menachem Makover and Rabbi Chaim Richman traveled to the farm where the heifer is located, to inspect and validate her status. The rabbis found her to be kosher and were satisfied that this heifer could indeed be a candidate to be used in the process of purification described in the book of Numbers, chapter 19. This is a prerequisite for the rebuilding of the Holy Temple.
Tradition records that a red heifer in our generation is a herald of the Messianic era. It is certainly an important development towards the rebuilding of the Holy Temple. Our sages taught that Israels redemption can be compared to the dawn. "In the beginning, it progresses very slowly...but as it continues, it grows brighter and brighter."
Pictures of the heifer may be viewed at the Temple Institute .
In 9:27, Daniel says the Prince who comes out of those tribes will make a covenant with the many, Daniel's people, Israel, which will have a seven year term and at the mid point of the term, the Prince will cause the sacrifices and obliations to cease.
The sacrifices were last conducted in the spring of 70AD before the destruction; therefore a prophecy that says that at some future date, the sacrifices will be interrupted, of necessity implies that the sacrifices will need to be reinitiated so that they can be then later interrupted.
The question then before the house, is what has to happen before the sacrifices can be restarted. One thing is probably the Red Heifer.
The laws of the Parah Adumah (red heifer) are very complex. The ashes of the Parah Adumah are necessary to purify a person who has come into contact with the dead, and is therefore not allowed to enter the vicinity of the Mikdash (Temple precinct). Supposedly, a Parah Adumah is always available somewhere in the world since the Messiah can arrive at any time.
carpe, I suspect that if this is the "last days," you will be disappointed.
While I do agree with that statement - I believe Jesus was also specific about our being "alert, awake", etc. He told the fisherman they were able to tell how the weather would be by looking at the sky (red sky at night, sailor's delight; red sky at dawning, sailor's take warning). Jesus said, "it has been given unto you to know the mysteries and secrets of the kingdom".
With those 2 things said, I believe as Christians, we are supposed to be in tune with what God is doing (by praying and faithfully attending our local church), and thereby, we are keenly aware of the end times. Why? So we can be ever vigilant to gather in the harvest while there is still time.
Nevermind that the root word of Revelation is reveal and it was written before AD70.
Nevermind that in Matthew 24 Christ was describing 2 separate events: 1)The destruction of the Temple in AD70(and with it all of the records of Israel), which all the signs pointed to, and 2)His Second coming which will have no signs.
Another question that comes to mind is that since the Temple and it's records were destroyed utterly in AD70, and with it all of the records of who was who, just how do they know who is a true Israelite any more? How will they select their high priest without a descendant of the tribe of Levi?
What is that supposed to mean?
I personally think that saying, "good guys win, bad guys lose" is a great way to sum everything up.
