Irrational is fabricating an extra-scriptural fantasy to support an idea the Bible does not support -- i.e., life begins at conception.
The Bible position is clear. Life begins at birth. (And new life begins at new birth.)
The individual's life begins at conception. That's science, RS.
Argue science if you want, but making up a story about Jesus in the womb and some kid named Jeremiah is about as far from science as you can get. Don't argue science when you're really using religion.
For you created my imnost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Psalm 139:13-16
Sounds to me like I had identity, therefore life before my birth.
Luke 1:41-44
When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, "Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy.
Have you even READ the Bible? Jeremiah 1 : 4-10 Now the word of the LORD came to me saying, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations."
Sounds like God considered Jeremiah alive.
Oh - so an expectant mother carries around a corpse in her womb for nine months, I suppose. And then the Bible teaches that the corpse suddenly becomes alive when it's born. OK.
I suppose also that when God made Jeremiah a prophet, Jeremiah was the first prophet who wasn't human, but a ball of inanimate matter. OK.
So a person who was Caesarean-sectioned rather than born is actually a zombie and not a living person, either? So Biblically, we can just kill someone who came into the world that way, since they weren't technically born?
I know that people who try to justify murdering kids need to use some pretty farfetched arguments, but this is hilarious.
That's sacrilege.
In any case, explain how a preemie born 6 months post-conception is more alive than an in-utero prenatal baby at 6 months post-conception???
By the way, your unique DNA came into existence at conception, not before, not after.
