The Golden Calf of Liberalism
from The Firefly
Jesus is a Jew and every Christian faith worships him as their savior. The Old Testament was written by Jews and is viewed by Christians as the word of God and truth. I don't see how liberals can view fundamentalist Christians as anti-semitic, considering how Christians have embraced these things of Jewish origin.
Fundamentalists are merely anti-liberal. I believe that, too, has its basis in Old Testament (Jewish) philosophy that teaches that God gave man free choice but, also, responsibility for his actions. Unfortunately, most liberals think that they know what is best for you, and also believe that you are obligated to pay for what they believe is best for others.
I admit, I've seen this attitude in many fundamentalist when they become overzealous about trying to force their beliefs. In that way, fundamentalists are just like liberals. Fundamentalists and liberals try to force their views on us through legislation. The only difference between the two groups is their focus. Fundamentalists approach it from a literal Biblical basis and the liberals approach it from their position of earthly material and pleasure (and they defend that just as fervently as any religious fanatic).
I would go so far as to state that liberalism is a religion, in fact, found again in the Bible when the Jewish followers of Moses made themselves a golden calf -- representing a material god of wealth, pleasure, glitz, and glamour -- to worship. They collected from all probably using the communist/socialist philosophy of "from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs." The rich, most likely, contributed the most gold to build the useless calf. All the gold collected though didn't go to those in need, it went to build the grand image of power represented by the calf. (Reminds me of the USSR.) The gold would have been best left in the hands of the people.
Moses knew a bad thing when he saw it: The noble Jew demanded the destruction of the calf. Moses destroyed the calf because it offended God, who said in the Ten Commandments, "you shall have no other gods before me." The building of the calf is like the many useless things built by the liberal establishment including state-funded education and social welfare programs. Modern day liberalism is the golden calf. Liberalism is an old, old disease.
Are faithful Christians then similar to early Jews in their fear of liberalism and its encouragement of moral degradation? I'm surprised that more Jews aren't following the tradition established by Moses and smashing golden calves today. Perhaps liberal-leaning Jews should look back at their own noble history before believing that they need to vote for liberals.
We may have to depend on some TF for those slots. You are correct , the defense should be formidible.
The practitioners of such could hardly be called "fundamentalist" that was low class, but they were big on how "Christian" they were.
Also the KKK touts itself as "Christian" and even "conservative". The KKK doesn't amount to anything now, but in their heyday (1920s) were something for a Jew to worry bout.
Such is the small shred of truth on which liberals hang the charge of anti-semitism on conservative Christians.
Also conservative Christians have been known to be "insensitive". Well waah waah waah.
The answer is to sensitize them if necessary, not denounce them as Nazis. They are potentially the best ally the Jewish people in this country could have.
Meanwhile the liberals do everything they can to "get" the Jews. Not just Israelis, but also Jews in America who are "too" religious, irrespective of any Zionist question.
Hard-core liberals are motivated by a fear of any and all things relgious.
Example?
