An old high school friend and I were talking about this over the weekend. The winter of 1975-76 was bitterly cold in the northeast. We lived in NJ and remeber vividly seeing the Delawaare completely frozen over, supposedly the first time in 200 year...also walked on the frozen surf at Sea Isle City in NJ...and all the talk those days was about the coming Ice Age...now of course we have a mild winter and the threat is global warming.

I remember being in grade school in the 1970's and all we heard about in our science classes was the next Ice Age was coming.

Back in 89-90 the weather was so cold here in Tennessee that creeks froze over that NEVER freeze over. Within 5 years all we hear about is how much warmer it is getting.

Correctamente! In 1976 and 77 we had three day long blizzards in upper NY State that were not only very cold, but deposited snow in mega amounts everywhere from Buffalo to Watertown.
