"But lest we think that England has a monopoly on stupid laws, let us never forget one of the most important lessons from the Los Angeles riots: guns save lives, and gun control only encourages bad people to prey upon disarmed victims."
His summation is spot on and bears repeating again and again.
I would go further and point out that our major cities with high crime and handgun bans, still havn't figured it out yet, even though the folks living in them have.

If the Brits had a collective brain between them they would have adopted our constitution a long time ago. They deserve whatever happens to them.

I really wish I could find an editorial on the Back Page of Defense Electronics maganizine (I think it's now Security and Defense Electronics) from about the Fall of 1985.
The theme was the gun freedom laws (AKA 2nd amendment) were promulgated by the tyrant royal class in Europe who raised taxes so high they couldn't be paid.
They accepted payment from the peasants by "renting" the children of over-taxed peasants and sexually abusing them. Both men and women of the "Royals" participated.
Any link to this article would be appreciated.

British Subjects Beginning to Rethink Gun Control As long as they have the mindset of "subjects", they are just haggling over the weight of their chains.

Too bad we didn't free our homelands along with ourselves, who knows, if we had done so, there may have been no World Wars, and the Tyrants wouldn't have screwed up the middle east, Africa, and the rest of the world.

Agreed, but they have always been subjects, it's all they know. We were fortunate enough to have 3000 miles of ocean between us and the King, which gave us the taste for something better.

I'll see if I can find it online or off, sounds a bit slanderous to say the least.

With the last two dozen administrations we have had in Washington, we are headed for the same experience as Britain. The continual support of the United Nations and the CFR is sinking America into the sludge of Communism. I can tell you that this has been definitely a steady progression downhill to the loss of America's liberties.
We have proud socialists in our Congress. They have every right to be proud. Looking at the lack of guts displayed by the Republicans, I am amazed that there hasn't been a national outcry for a 3rd and/or 4th party to take America back.

The continual support of the United Nations and the CFR is sinking America into the sludge of Communism. You're absolutely correct. Reagan broke the trend, but we have slidden back down that path.

Looking at the lack of guts displayed by the Republicans, I am amazed that there hasn't been a national outcry for a 3rd and/or 4th party to take America back. The GOP establishment has been very successful at blaming Perot (instead of Bush and his liberal policies) for electing Clinton in 1992. As a result, the immediate response to a third-party is negative.
I still think the best way to get things back on track is to work within the GOP, as Reagan did. Of course, the GOP establishment deems any candidate other than the "annointed one" as "unelectable" or "too extreme" or "too inexperienced", so we'll have to overcome that somehow.
But the GOP statists are a step ahead of us here. They are working to rig the primaries so that all of them occur very early and very close to each other. This makes it hard for an outsider or underdog to prevail. Campaign Finance Reform, by limiting speech 30 days before a primary election, makes it even more difficult.

According to
FAS they didn't add Defense Electronics Magazine to their archives because it "duplicates other online content", they should have a link to it, but alas no.

Someone should remind the Britts that one of the reasons we have the Second Amendment is King George tried to impose gun control on us before the revolution. Said the British troops stationed here would provide us all the protection we needed.

It's beginning to stir.....I think that's why CFR was signed, to ward off/nay make it almost impossible for a third party candidate to make it to the dais! The number of Independents is growing by leaps and bounds, Conservatives gaining the most. Please keep yelling for the death of the FEC, that commission of UNELECTED ELITES who decides just about all the rules. Its getting to the point that we practically have state sponsored elections.
