'Unprecedented revenge' say Hamas

Agence France-Presse

THE armed wing of radical Islamic militant group Hamas vowed today an unprecedented revenge against Israel after six of its fighters were killed in an Israeli missile strike.

"It will be a new kind of punishment this time, of an unaccustomed type that will shake their entity and destroy its pillars," the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades said.

Six Hamas members were killed yesterday in an Israeli helicopter strike, including Qais Idwan, said to have masterminded the deaths of 26 people in a suicide attack last week now called the "Passover Massacre".

Idwan was a top chief in the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades.

Also killed in the missile strike was Said Abu Awad, the militant who conceived and helped the group build its home-made Katyusha-style Qassam-2 rockets.

Israel considers the use of the Qassam-2s, which have a range of about 6km, a serious escalation in armed operations against the country, and has warned if one of those rockets ever hit a populated area its retaliation would be radical.

"Our fighters received the martyrdom they wanted after having trained dozens of engineers in different (weapons) areas and gave them intensive military training to give Sharon and his stupid government a lesson that they will understand," the statement said, referring to Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.

The Brigades stressed the killings would not prevent it from carrying out new attacks and that the "idiot Sharon should have understood the lesson after the assassination of Abu Hannud".

The Israelis killed Hannud, another top Hamas military leader, in a helicopter strike on November in the West Bank, triggering a wave of deadly suicide attacks by the radical Islamic group.

Sharon is simply defending his country. As for Bush, he knows full well that the solution for this whole mess means dealing with Iran/Iraq.

Don't rush to judgment. Once GW's plan is in effect, Hamas and the rest will be no more than troublesome roving bandit gangs, like the barbarians in backcountry Afghanistan.

Stranger to fathom why women would want to be devout Muslims, when there are no promises made for them in Heaven.

Last month saw covert activity via Israel and possibly U.S. special forces in Syria and Lebanon.
The IAF destroyed several Syrian radar facilites in Lebanon, most notably the radar array near Baalbek.
A while back Bush mentioned the axis of Evil and WMD.
North Korea was given an invitation to talk..they balked.
In late March someone blew up the underground missile complex near Homs in Syria.
The facility was for Scud C/D production..fuel production and storage.
The site also produces Syrias VX nerve agents.
North Korea and Iran both supply technicians allong with critical parts for the missiles.

To some degree..the Terrorist activity that lead up to the IDF's recent ops was to buy Syria time as Israel and the U.S. had begun to engage her missile command..WMD and radar/com chain.
Iran is behind the West bank uprising..it is to turn Israel and America away from the prize.
Many Korean technitions were killed during the covert Homs op...now..weeks later..North Korea wants to talk.
Iran also directs Hizbullah to enage the IDF allong with the deployment of 20,000 plus Syrian troops to the region to block further activity against Syria's missile command.
The U.S. and the Israeli's would come under open criticism for continuing there options..again this helps buy time for Tehran and Damascus as they rethink things.
This is Islams biggest card until they can deploy nukes..they will fight over these missile assets in Syria..they cannot afford to loose them!

Let them go ahead and try it. If another attack succeeds, it will be impossible for Secretary Powell to press Israel to withdraw without delay.

Me, I want women already experienced in the arts of lovemaking. Virgins are probably a very mixed bag. They are obviously into collecting hymens.

My take is that it is stupid for Sharon to act unilaterally as a fly on a horses ass. As Bush put it a while back: "It just is not helpful.."

What do you think would have been the proper response?

Apparently those appointed to head hamas have never heard that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again -- and expecting a different result. Or, maybe they should pause long enough to take a look at the Scriptural admonition: "Those who sow the wind reap the whirlwind" (as in the kind created by Apache gunship rotor blades).

What happened? I thought killing those who fought back in the west bank was going to solve this thing?
You know perfectly well that, as Mark Twain pointed out a hundred years ago, there is not a square yard of inhabitable dirt in the world that was never taken by force from its rightful owner. Maybe Japan should be launching suicide attacks against Russia over the islands Stalin took at the end of World War II?

The unique feature of the Palestinians is not the fact that other people have possession of the land they themselves claim. The unique feature of "the middle east" is exactly the fact that "the Palestinians" have been raised pretty much the way you'd raise an attack dog. They have been sustained but given no opportunity to do anything but seethe in hostility and form assassin cults. It is exactly because they can see the "promised land"--that they can visualize "victory"--that they persist.

Of course, the fact that the Jewish diaspora gathered from around the world is economically vigorous and makes the desert bloom makes the grass seem greener for the Palestinians. But there ain't no oil under Jerusalem and, absent that, the Arabs don't seem to be making any deserts bloom. So the economy of a Judesrein Palestine would probably be something of a disappointment . . .

The assassins have told themselves that "all things are possible to him who is willing to die." Well, 19 such men did (by deceit, treachery, and surprise) take down the WTC. Let's see another 19 (or 19,000) of them build something in some way comparable. But the whole system of Arabian policy has worked to prevent the Palestinians' building anything.

Yep. It was evident from the start. At least they shut down the borders and routed out those with suspect visas. ;-)
