USO Canteen Freeper Style

War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil.  We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.

On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.

William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."

The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.

This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."

We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.

This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.

Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!

"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

Excuse me if this was posted before.

This is a wife and child whose Marine husband and father will not be coming home.. ..

Late mornin' greetings everyone. Family reunion picnic scheduled for today. Any leftovers come back to the Canteen .

Looks like it's time to polish up the dancin' shoes. This time I'll do both the right and the left instead of two left.

HI Daisy, I loved you in purple, you looked beautiful in your dress. Purple is such a great color, all the shades of lavender and purple are fantastic.

Thanks for the photos of our troops too.I love seeing them so much.

My husband's new "favorite" movie is Oh Brother, Where Art Thou. So Bluegrass is heard around our house more freqently now :)

That's my husbands "favorite" movie too. He's always using quotes from that movie. He used one this morning: "That don't make no se-ance!" LOL!

That's what I heard. Looks like there are 5 variations of a "Lone Star" being considered.
I'm not from Texas, but to me, I can't think of Texas without the Alamo coming to mind.
I've heard some of the reasoning behind not choosing the Alamo, but I believe it just comes down to the Alamo not being PC.

There is still hope for this country when this sort of public observance is made
any place within 100 miles of Marin County.

I heard that when the "American Taliban" issue was hot, radio talk-show hosts
in the Bay Area couldn't find any callers with the cojones to defend "Taliban John"
on the air.
That is a good sign.

OKAY!!
When we all get together in Oregon for the Freeper Frolics, me'n FallGuy will have us a big plate of girts without the sugar and milk!
That's the way Gyrenes, Stuntmen and Texans eat those things!

Here's to PC: When Santa Ana moved his 5000 troop to the Alamo, Travis turned to Crockett and commented, "I didn't know we were pouring concrete today."

"That don't make no se-ance!" LOL!

Given the current state of our world today, fits most any situation. However, if you want to try to make "se-ance" of things, FR is THE place to be. Thanks you JimRob!!!

Here's a recipe to make Mom's famous brownies!

Remove teddy bear from oven and preheat oven to 375.

Melt 1 cup margarine in saucepan.

Remove teddy bear from oven and tell Jr "no, no."
Add margarine to 2 cups sugar.

Take shortening can away from Jr and clean cupboards.
Measure 1/3 cup cocoa.
Take shortening can away from Billy again and bathe cat.

Apply antiseptic and bandages to scratches sustained while removing shortening from cat's tail.
Assemble 4 eggs, 2 tsp. vanilla, and 1-1/2 cups sifted flour.

Take smoldering teddy bear from oven and open all doors and windows for ventilation.

Take telephone away from Jr. and assure party on the line the call was a mistake. Call operator and attempt to have direct dialed call removed from bill.

Measure 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 cup nuts and beat all ingredients well.

Let cat out of refrigerator.
Pour mixture into well-greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake 25 minutes.
Rescue cat and take razor away from Billy.

Explain to kids that you have no idea if shaved cats will sunburn.

Throw cat outside while there's still time and he's still able to run away.
Frosting--Mix the following in saucepan: 1 cup sugar 1 oz unsweetened chocolate 1/4 cup margarine.
Take the %$$&#&% teddy bear out of the @#$% broiler and throw it away -- far away.

Answer the door and meekly explain to nice policeman that you didn't know Jr had slipped out of the house and was heading for the street.

Put Jr. in playpen.
Add 1/3 cup milk, dash of salt, and boil, stirring constantly for 2 minutes.

Answer door and apologize to neighbor for Billy having stuck a garden hose in man's front door mail slot. Promise to pay for ruined carpet.

Tie Billy to clothesline.
Remove burned brownies from oven.
