TEL AVIV - Near a sign declaring ''Winchester, what America shoots,'' Gil Furman loaded shining rounds into a Colt .45, preparing to fire his newly refurbished pistol at targets whose silhouettes were black on white but whose real identity was obvious to anyone.

''My father tells me that if I go to the West Bank, I should carry it,'' Furman, a 38-year-old teacher, said late last month, sheepishly cradling his gun. ''If I need it and I don't have it, I'll ask myself why I didn't bring it.''

Well, it could always leap out of his hands and shoot him, all by itself. At least, that's what Sarah Brady says. She wouldn't lie, and lots of American Jews like her, so maybe the Israelis should listen to her.

And the VPC says "every handgun is aimed at you." It's a shame the Israelis have degenerated to this level, that they're actually--yuck!--carrying guns with them. It looks like the Palestinians have already won. </sarcasm>

The Boston Glop used the word, "leftist?" How come they never use that term to discribe the Democrats here?

Can anyone tell me why the Arab types always run around with their faces masked? Reminds one of the Ku Klux Klan.

Good question.

I was listening to Radio Havana Cuba a few years ago, as they were interviewing a writer for the Boston Globe.

Good question indeed!

Not everyone sees that logic.

Thanks for bolding this obnoxious passage. The Globe refers to the arguments of gun-grabbers as "logic," and says the pro-gun people are just too stupid to get it. Media bias arrrrrrgggh--of course, I can't really blame them. The anti-gun reporters have real reason to be angry, all of their arguments about gun control go flying out the window in a situation like Israel.

Now it's sort of a Muslim fashion statement....
But the real purpose is to make it much harder for Israel/IDF to get a handle on who is who among them.

    Who are these guys????>>>>>>>

''The Arabs act with their heart, not their head. This is the problem. You and I can speak and disagree. With them, it's not the same.''

I always wondered why the media invariably sides with the Palestinians.

Darned if I can locate a link, but I would swear I read a few months ago that most any Israeli citizen, who "qualifies" ( whatever that means! ) can check out of government arsenals some fairly "heavy" ordnance, like UZI's, for personal use. Naturally, I find the idea very attractive.

As far as I know there is some form of gun control in Israel. I believe all former IDF can get guns. If it were up to me I would have the Israeli government issuing sidearms and rifles to all Israel men and women. Making weapon's training compulsory. I am sure not enough women and religious Jews are trained and don't have weaponry. Many religious Jews not serving in IDF of course.

ALL SETTLERS must have weapons and good weapon's reining. Men and women
