Ozzy Osbourne invited to the White House, President Bush a huge fan of show

Wildman rocker Ozzy Osbourne has reportedly been invited to dinner at the White House by US president George W Bush, according to reports. It follows the hugely successful launch of a new reality TV show following the UK singer and his family.

I thought I'd be on a wanted poster on the wall, not invited to his place to tea

Ozzy Osbourne The Osbournes has become music channel MTV's biggest ever hit in the US, with more than three million viewers and President Bush is said to be a huge fan.

Osbourne said he was stunned to be invited, according to the Express newspaper.

He said: "I thought I'd be on a wanted poster on the wall, not invited to his place to tea."

Family values

The TV show follows the real-life family sagas of the former Black Sabbath frontman - previously better known for stage antics like biting the head off a bat than for being a family man.

Osbourne, 53, his wife and manager Sharon and their children Kelly, 17, and Jack, 16, have all been filmed going about their daily lives in their Beverly Hills home.

Osbourne's other daughter Aimee refused to take part in the programme, and even moved out of the family home while filming took place.

Osbourne suffered from drink and drug problems in the past

Viewers see Osbourne giving his children advice on sex, drink and drugs, arguing with neighbours who keep him awake at night by playing folk music too loud and having to seek advice from his son on how to use a new digital TV.

The singer, originally from Birmingham, made his name in heavy metal band Black Sabbath and earned a reputation as one of the wildest rock stars.

He has battled drink and drug addictions, been notorious for trashing cars and hotel rooms, bitten the head off a live dove in a meeting with record executives and spent time in jail after urinating on The Alamo.

He still releases solo albums and heads the popular annual Ozzfest rock festival.

Viewers will also see scenes such as the family moving home, and packing boxes with one marked "linens" and another marked "dead things".

The show will start on 25 May on MTV UK and Ireland.

Check this out, the Osbourne's seem so, normal

Oh yeah, I watch the show every week. Aside from the fact that Ozzy is a millionaire and a rockstar, the Osbournes are probably the most "normal" family on television.

ROFLMAO...

The society for morals and values has NO idea what you are talking about and thus... you will skate completely on this comment.

Remember the good old days when there was actually an art to saying what you meant without saying it to everybody "out loud?" It had its benefits.

Ozzie is a lot wiser than he was. I have an interview with him back when he started coming out of his purple haze dayz. I expect as his brain continues do defog... he will move to the right one step at a time. Becoming a conservative is different from being born as one in a lifelong "static" condition.

Go ask alice... cooper that is.

Never was a big Ozzy fan, but the show is funny. Right up there with the Simpsons, and Bevis and Butthead.

when everyone talks about the Alamo thing, they act like Oz wentto the front door and pissed all over it. didnt happen that way, the Alamo complex is actually quite large and covers several city blocks in downtown San Antonio. He was wondering around downtown drunk and wasted and had to take a wiz, he found a wall and some bushes and wizzed. Turned out to be a retaining wall in the Alamo complex.

Not what I heard. I heard he pissed in some kind of fountain or something right in full view of a group of tourist. LOL! Funny stuff!

If one REALLY believes in Jesus, he would find the very notion of a rock band named Black Sabbath, to be odious, unspeakable, something to run from. Something that would make one cringe. Not entertaining in the least. A threat to one's soul.

Riiiiiiiiiiight. Like I could tell how entertaining a band was based on it's name. Or that a word could make me cringe. Well "Bill Clinton" does but that's about it...

The incident is 20 years old. Ozzy still horribly regrets this. He didn't realize so many people would be so pissed off. He didn't play in San Antonio for 10 years because he was too ashamed and embarrased and the townsfolk were still steamed about it. 10 years ago, he donated $10,000 to the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, caretakers of the Alamo and issued the following statement;

"We all have done things in our lives that we regret. I am deeply honored that the people of San Antonio have found it in their hearts to have me back. I hope that this donation will show that I have grown up."

OH, just ignore the Puritan wing of FR.

We go from a prez that rapes, treasons, and murders (Ron Brown's plane trvelers, as a worst-case) to one who may be just a Black Sabbath fan, and they're still not happy. LOL

It is possible. Bush is not 80 years old. He is around Ozzy's age. Many people in Bush's generation listened to Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, etc.

BTW, Conservatives do listen to music other than gospel, you know.

Oh, no, you guys are totally wrong on this one. Jesus REALLY exists, and has a definable, knowable personality. He knows what we are doing. Likewise Satan REALLY exists, and has a definable, knowable, personality. He knows enough to try to influence us, here on earth. If one REALLY believes in Jesus, he would find the very notion of a rock band named Black Sabbath, to be odious, unspeakable, something to run from. Something that would make one cringe. Not entertaining in the least. A threat to one's soul.

We've all done things that are Satanic, and that threaten our soul if we don't repent. I don't think that being a young man and naming your rock group a mocking name should be a sin that we fellow human beings should forever condemn a man for. It's true that God will not be mocked but only God can be judge of the extent of a sin that a person has committed against Him because He knows that person's heart and the spirit in which the sin was committed. I've never named a rock group a mocking name but I have done mocking things as a young man that I'm glad almost no one knows about now.

If you ponder this one, you will come to the same conclusion.

I ponder these questions a lot.

And I speak to you as someone who, years ago, had all their albums and really liked their group, and whose parents tried to point out that he was satanic, and I said the same thing you guys are saying now. ---Nahhhhhhhhh...

I think it was more a young man's rebellion authority(parents, government, etc.) than Satan worship, but don't know for sure and will reserve judgment.
