JERUSALEM - Israel welcomed President Bush's Mideast speech yesterday - but Palestinian and Arab reaction was wary and cool.
Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres said he was glad to see the United States "joining in the effort to bring about a cease-fire" with the goal of restarting peace negotiations.

Anyone just reading the headline would assume the speech was directed against Israel. Unreal. Seems I am enraged on an hourly basis these days regarding the stifling anti-Israel position coming from all over the world.
As I said on another thread, a lot of these people around here come out of the gate just a little too fast; of course, a lot of them are just LOOKING for the bad parts, IMO.
There are plenty of folks who want to shoot first, and dispense with the questions altogether. Lucky for them, they can do it for free here, without fear of having to see the results of their advice. Unlucky for us, we have to wade through it.
Sometimes I try to think about what the ramifications of some of the "suggestions" I see around here are; all I can ever think is "Man, people just THINK conservatives are nasty, wait till they see THIS!" This minute I'm trying to picture the nightly news showing troops or police going house to house, dragging families into vans and pushing them back over the border. YIKES!
Yup. It's one thing to say it should be done, and quite another thing to see it being done. (As Himmler learned one day when he went off to watch his boys machine-gun several hundred Jewish women and children.)
Interestingly, none of the FReepers doing the recommending, would be unlikely to be within 500 miles of the folks who had to do what they want done.

Was it too deep or too shallow? Did he wheeze?
Have you every tried to write for any national media outlets? I know most are too liberal, but your talent really needs to be shared beyond the scope of FreeRepublic!
Most of them will ignore the obvious. It's what they do.
