JERUSALEM - Israel welcomed President Bush's Mideast speech yesterday - but Palestinian and Arab reaction was wary and cool.
Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres said he was glad to see the United States "joining in the effort to bring about a cease-fire" with the goal of restarting peace negotiations.

Hey! Would you please tell my why you are posting here and not from the WH???? ;-) You'd be great!
As a matter of fact, I think you should be the Senior Correspondent for the FR Media Network...;-)
You'd shut them up with you common sense (the regular presstitutes) and Helen the Hag would just simply fall over and hurt herself with one of those things she wears in what I like to call her rat's nest, LOL!
Regards.....Deej ;-)

"The media is making this look like Bush has super harsh criticism for Sharon, but that's not the case at all."That's because the media is darned STUPID! ;-)

You da man, John! Do you have a website where their are archives of your erudite editorials?
To: kattracks
"Well, that's Reuters for you."And thankfully for us, we have the TRANSCRIPT of President Bush's speech, which we can read ALL BY OURSELVES, and see what he REALLY said..
I wonder how the meeting with Zinni/Arafart is going today. You don't think they would....nah.

Your comments are the most positive interpretation of GWB's actions, and quite possibly correct. I hope you are right.
Thanks.

Thanks, friend.
FReeper RJayneJ has been kind enough to reserve space on her website for my essays:

No, they're not stupid, they just think we are.

What I noticed yesterday was that too many of us were responding initially to the "Bush warns Israel" media spin of his speech. It was only after the text of the speech became available did many see that the call on Israel to withdraw was just a small part of an otherwise Presidential pimp-slapping of Arafat.
To: Freemyland
Exactly -- which is why the media's credibility (and ratings for broadcasting) are in a death spiral.

Thanks so much for making the situation in the Middle East look a little clearer this morning. I am with the others who would like to see this kind of commentary reach more people. Have a good day and thanks again. Denco

OK, I'll have to agree with you.

What a wonderful essay and I have to agree with the consensus - your words need more exposure. As most of us here, I have been following closely the turmoil in the Middle East and am impressed by President Bush's handling of the matter. I pray for a peaceful end to the violence and terrorism as I suspect it will take a miracle. Yet, I also sit here with fingers crossed that Bill Clinton keeps his yap shut and doesn't interfere or attempt to capitalize with input into the situation.

Then you can well imagine how manipulated the Arab world has become. Seems to me that the Arab elites have been somewhat more effective than ours, at least we have a multitude of sources.
Pity yet Punish many in the Arab world.
