Today, President Bush issued his strongest statement to date regarding the crisis in the Middle East. In a speech that won praise from both Israeli and Palestinian officials, Bush also announced that Secretary of State Colin Powell will be headed to the region next week. Later in the day, Bush urged the Senate to Pass Trade Promotion Authority. The President and First Lady Laura departed this afternoon for a weekend visit to their ranch in Crawford, Texas, where they will be hosting Prime Minister Tony Blair. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

A weekend on the ranch will help him shed some of the stress that has built up over these last few wonderful/terrible days. I don't know how stress-free the ranch will be. What if he and Tony Blair don't see eye to eye on the Iraqi situation, that could prove to be a source of stress. Last I heard Blair was getting a lot of pressure at home to back away from any Iraqi attack.

Just once it wold be nice to say the hell with the rest of the world and watch their reaction. yeah it would. And if we weren't so dependent on them for oil, and now for the war on terror, I'd like to see us do just that.

They'll bitch but Blair will stand behind President Bush. Brittan needs us far more than we need them.

Hard day today for President Bush...He needs our prayers. Amen. And he's got them!

Oh, patriciaruth! I am so glad that things are going so well right now. I will continue my fervent prayers for Mason that this will go well. I hope that Christian has gotten lots of attention as the little hero that he is ..... :-)
Please tell your sister and all of Mason's family that we are lifting them all up to the Lord.

They remain on my prayer list. Thanks for the good update.

"What I have never been able to understand is why the entire world thinks that President Bush and the United States should settle this problem"
I've been thinking the same thing for the last week! Why is Bush the world's policeman? Granted, we stepped into Afghanistan, but only AFTER we were attacked by them. I don't understand how Bush is in the middle of this Israeli/Palestinian war. AND he looks very worried.

That's enough to make one shutter. Become an isolationist? (Sorry, I couldn't resist.) I think the word you wanted was "shudder."
To: patriciaruth
Prayers to Mason on the way and a big "thank you!" prayer to dear Christian for being such a brave and loving brother.
To: Mo1

That's an encouraging report. Prayers are up for Mason's healing. And what a wonderful brother! Prayers to sustain the family, too, through a trying time.
