Did they just stop the drug for everybody or did they go after doctors who prescribed left and right like they were giving out candy? That would be the issue.

They shouldn't just shelve the drug, but the doctor should think twice before writing prescriptions.

They did not stop the drug. My sister just had surgery and they gave her Oxycontin for two weeks and it really helped she had a long and serious surgery...they sent her home on it for two weeks and explained that it was only to be used short term. If all doctors would be that responsible, the rest of the doctors wouldn't have to worry about the DEA.. Yes, I believe that some doctors hand it out like candy and that is what has caused this big problem...I am also sorry to hear that people are losing their hearing because of it.
