Did they just stop the drug for everybody or did they go after doctors who prescribed left and right like they were giving out candy? That would be the issue.

They shouldn't just shelve the drug, but the doctor should think twice before writing prescriptions.

They did not stop the drug. My sister just had surgery and they gave her Oxycontin for two weeks and it really helped she had a long and serious surgery...they sent her home on it for two weeks and explained that it was only to be used short term. If all doctors would be that responsible, the rest of the doctors wouldn't have to worry about the DEA.. Yes, I believe that some doctors hand it out like candy and that is what has caused this big problem...I am also sorry to hear that people are losing their hearing because of it.

The doctor that told you to live with the pain is a putz. NO ONE should have to live with that degree of pain!!! I have also been told to see a shrink, that I had a need in me to be weak.

I imagine they will someday see the error of their ways. Even if it is when they are consigned to He!!

It is well known in the NORMAL COMMUNITY that there are tons of drugs that are legal out there that can better help than the illegal ones that seem to get used mostly for liesure.

The article is about oxycontin, a legal drug. It makes no reference to illegal drugs at all. If the "normal community" is people like you, I'm staying wierd, thank you very much.

This issue is more likely that since it is cheap heroin and there has been foul play regarding perscriptions, doctors are at risk for prescribing this without a real reason.
The liberal thinkers probably gave prescriptions out like candy and are now being looked at real close now.
If your doctor is afraid to prescribe anything when you have a real disease, then he has been or is probably on probation for behaviors unfitting of a doctor.
