I would give anything to look them both in the eye (after I've hugged them both for a really long time) and tell them what a gift they are to this country, and how much I appreciate what they have done in one year to restore dignity and honor to the White House!

Man, I would love to sit and talk with these two fine people!!

Wonderful pictures. Just great. I was so sorry that Fox News left the WH after airing our First Lady's and President's speeches-both warm, genuinely excited talks about education. I wanted to hear from the vowelettes, the Lion puppets, and Mr. Rodgers. Ah well-it sure was great to see pictures of them all here!

I just enjoy seeing and hearing from the Bush's so much I cannot believe it. For some reason they inspire me to want to be better, each and every time I hear them.

Thank you so much for the daily dose. I laughed out loud at the lion when it came up. I wasn't expecting a muppet on the daily dose.

Now if we could only get some of the Dems to read between the (liberal media) lions and convert. We can only hope (and pray).

My brother (who is now 34) was also addicted to "Rogers". He would cry when it came on because it was going to end. It would drive us crazy! We would have to calm him down and explain that he needed to watch it while it was on. Unfortunately they didn't have VCRs yet.

Funny and very cute! Bet Mr Rodgers would love to hear this tale! :^)

Ohio...I am here. I'm at our farm and usually don't get on until a bit later. My internet connection is slower than molasses as well - old lines out here in the country!

I'm so glad the book got to you ON TIME. I shall keep that in mind from now on. BTW, the chapter on meeting and falling in love...yeah, I read that one too...in the BOOKSTORE!!

The first picture is beautiful! Laura is radiant and I bet she has some stories to tell about that W! LOL!

Thanks for the photos rintense; they are such a treat!

Double Amen! to that. Americans owe them so much, and most don't even know how much. How great is it to have a strong leader with integrity and a first lady with such inner strength and grace. Plus, both have a great sense of humor. I love people who take their jobs seriously, but not themselves.

May God bless and protect them.

I think that Laura looks just terrific with this new hair do! She should wear it this way more often, in my opinion.

Yes, and in the photo where she's shaking hands with Mr. Rogers, you can tell her hair is such a pretty chestnut color, and so shiny. I don't think there has ever been a cuter couple in the White House than Laura and W.

Oh my gosh, I feel so bad about homeschoolmama. I hope she is okay. I shall offer up some prayers tonight. Please keep us informed.

Life can be so fleeting. We must be grateful for the time we have here.

The Bushes are such wonderful people. Because of them, I am considering volunteering to do something. Not sure what yet. May even check out the Freedom Corps stuff. Anyway, they are an inspiration. God Bless Them.

I have an interesting anecdote about a friend of mine that I have converted from liberalism to even more conservative than I am (at times). Anyway, she voted for Clinton in '92 and after I kept introducing books for her to read and sending magazines her way, she has become a complete Republican. I was talking with her on the phone the other day and I asked about the "news." She says to me, "ya know, I don't really worry about it too much because I know that W is in charge and everything will be just fine!" I got a big kick out of that!

And a hearty AMEN to all of this!!

I can't imagine how much fun they have when they're alone! They have to be two of the most 'together' people I've ever seen........completely comfortable with themselves, and able to relate to other people of all ages and types.

What a gift from the Lord they are to this nation!!

Oh, I think Laura's smile when she is gazing at W says it ALL! ;o)

She adores him and he adores her. No doubt about it.

Way to go! I love it when people finally see the light. That is an amazing turnaround. But you find a lot of people who voted for Clinton originally who no longer can stand him. If it wasn't for the liberal press still kissing his tushy, most people would just turn their backs on him.

As for his ardent supporters, the old Lincoln saying holds true: You can fool some of the people all of the time.

Everytime I read something about him, I just want to go wash my hands. On the other hand, GW and Laura inspire me to do something good. What a difference.
