This morning I had the great pleasure to have another conversation with David Schippers, one of the few former Democrats who has been able to see the truth about what happened to his former party and the damage Bill Clinton has done to this nation.
It began yesterday with a phone call to Schippers' office to see if he would comment on the Jonathon Alter kneepad interview with Clinton.
Schippers returned my call this morning and told me that he did not see the interview in NEWSWEEK because he would not buy that &^%$#*&^%$. I complied with his request to fax it to him.
Well, the impeachment prosecutor needed his medication because his blood pressure almost went through the roof after reading the interview.
"What!" yelled Schippers. "The worst thing that happened to him was that his dog died?"
"Not that our country was attacked? Not that the buildings were knocked down? Not that terrorists are running loose in our country? Not that there were dead bodies laying all over the streets of New York City?"
Schippers was really incensed over Clinton continuing to blame his problems on the supposed conspiracy of the right wing. "This can't be for real. This man is delusional," he said. "This SOB will never be remorseful and still refuses to admit what he did."
Despite Clinton's claim that the Justice Department did not object to a pardon for Marc Rich, Schippers says that such nonsense contradicts the facts. Many decent people within the Justice Department really wanted to nail Rich, not pardon him. "That Justice was no longer interested in Rich," said Schippers, "was pure B.S." Rudy Giuliani was absolutely screaming about Rich.
Clinton's psychological problem was evident when he talked about September 11 in terms of the "politics of personal destruction." According to Schippers, "Clinton believes that the whole world revolves around the feelings of William Jefferson Clinton."
We talked about politics in general and the Democratic Party in particular. He was sad to admit that the party he supported during most of his lifetime cares about one thing only --- retaining power. Their issues involve scaring people. That's all they can do. Scare people. Schippers talked about a 1998 recording of Hillary Clinton in which she tried to get out the vote by telling her minions that she had inside information about the Republicans plan to "close down all of welfare."
There is a difference in the parties that is paramount. The Democrats have no sense of shame. Schippers commented on the role of the media in the shameless activities of the Democrats. "The media is the bad guy," he said.
Regarding the illegal activities in pushing alien criminals to become citizens in 1996, Schippers really wanted to go after that case. They were ready to take the next step and was told that he had the support of the FBI. He believed that U.S. Attorneys were going to file criminal charges against those involved. But it was all suddenly shut down.
We talked about the comparison of 1930's Germany and 1990's United States of America. I told him how I had a discussion with Jerome Zeifmann (although neither of us remembered his name during our conversation -- sorry Mr. Zeifmann) in which I explained that it was before my time and I really never understood how a nation could have come to believe and accept that black was white and wrong was right. I didn't understand, that is, until I lived through the 1990s. Just as did Zeifmann, Schippers agreed with the comparison.
On the Borking of Judge Pickering, Schippers was very unhappy with President Bush for not using his bullypulpit. "Pickering is a decent man," said Schippers. "He was unanimously confirmed last time. The local NAACP supported him. Bush should have been out there in front for him long before the committee fiasco."
FReepers in Illinois, Schippers is going to actively campaign for Republican Jim Durkin in his battle for the Senate seat currently held by Dick Durbin. He hopes you will get out and support Durkin. As a Catholic, he is disappointed and angry with Durbin's position, as a Catholic, to support partial birth abortion.
On Jesse Jackson, Schippers thinks the shakedown artist is in real trouble. He noted how Jackson had done well in a few primaries when he ran for president, but he was "whomped" back at home in Chicago. According the the late journalist, Mike Royko, the reason Jesse had such trouble in his home state was because "We know him."
Schippers has agreed to be my guest for the next DFU Radio Hour on Radio FreeRepublic. I hope you will have some good questions I can relay to him.
How about a comparison of the 1990's US and Britain in the 1920's?
DFU, when will your next Radio FR Hour be? I think lots of folks will have some good questions for Mr. Schippers.

Great news Doug! I'm looking forward to it.
But "delusional"? Hmmm, how about "embodiment of evil"
"The Democrats have no sense of shame".That sounds like a "New" Bumpersticker in the making. "DumbocRATS have no sense of shame" or just "DemocRATS have no sense of Shame!I like the word "Dumbo" in reference to their way of thinking.
